Added

• Beta update channel — new "Check for beta updates" toggle in Preferences. When enabled, Sparkle will offer pre-release builds alongside stable releases. Beta builds are signed and notarized identically to stable releases.
• GIF processing toast — "Processing GIF..." toast during encoding, encoding moved off main thread to prevent beach ball.
• Mic device picker — right-click the mic button during recording setup to select input device. Shows live volume level inside the button. Filters out virtual aggregate devices. Pre-checks microphone permission on recording mode entry.
• Keystroke overlay — toggle in recording toolbar to show pressed keys on-screen during recording. Right-click for "Shortcuts Only" vs "All Keystrokes" mode. Pill-shaped HUD at bottom center with fade animation.
• Recording countdown — delay timer fires after pressing record, with countdown centered on the recording area. Per-session delay override in recording settings popover.
• Video editor improvements — timeline thumbnail strip from video frames, arrow key frame stepping, Copy button (copies video/GIF to clipboard) with dropdown for Copy Path.
• Pencil smoothing modes — 3-mode selector: None (raw points), Smooth (Chaikin on finish), Refined (moving-average window while drawing + Chaikin on finish). Replaces the previous on/off toggle.
• Pencil/marker single-click dot — single click now produces a visible filled circle at stroke width instead of nothing.
• Anchor points on unselected lines — right-click to add bend anchor points to lines and arrows without selecting them first.

Changed

• Pencil/marker selection — replaced click-to-select with long-press (300ms) to select annotations, so taps and drags always draw. Fixes Apple Pencil/Sidecar issue where taps were intercepted as selection.
• Pixelate annotations — now movable, resizable, and reorderable. Re-bakes from the original screenshot instead of composited image. Censor annotations render first so other annotations always appear on top.
• Recording mode input — all keyboard shortcuts blocked during recording setup except Escape. Arrow cursor shown instead of crosshair. Focus returns to previously active app when recording starts.

Fixed

• Scroll capture hover corruption — mouse hover events suppressed via CGEvent tap during scroll capture to prevent hover effects from corrupting stitch detection.
• Scroll capture sticky headers — strip-only merge appends only new rows per frame, preventing sticky headers from duplicating. Single-sample header detection for immediate activation. Vision crop capped at 20% to prevent over-cropping on dark backgrounds.
• MP4 recording cleanup — recording UI (HUD, border, menu bar) now properly cleaned up on MP4 recording completion.
