Battery Monitor v1.2.0

This release restores broad component thermal monitoring on macOS 27 with a fully Swift-native telemetry pipeline.

Changes since v1.1.2

  • Added Swift-native thermal collectors for AppleSMC, IOHID, IOReport, AppleSmartBattery, IOKit registry data, powermetrics, pmset, and ProcessInfo.
  • Restored representative CPU, GPU, battery, memory, storage, and PMU temperatures in General Thermals.
  • Added Thermals Advanced with all discovered readings grouped by source, including sensor identifiers, classification, source health, warnings, and diagnostics.
  • Integrated detailed thermal capture into the privileged root helper and its cached telemetry contract.
  • Added atomic cache replacement, bounded diagnostics, process-group cleanup, timeout handling, source provenance, and stricter value validation.
  • Removed the standalone thermal probe and C shim after completing the native Swift integration.
  • Updated release runner selection for current GitHub-hosted macOS images.
  • Expanded thermal collector, aggregation, compatibility, helper, and display coverage to 132 tests.

Installation

  1. Download BatteryMonitor.dmg.
  2. Open the DMG and drag BatteryMonitor.app into Applications.
  3. Launch Battery Monitor.
  4. Enable the Root Helper toggle when prompted to collect privileged thermal telemetry.
