This release updates the precompiled Swift runtime libraries for Android to Swift 6.1.2, based directly on finagolfin/swift-android-sdk.

These libraries are distributed as .aar artifacts via JitPack and can be integrated into any Android project targeting native Swift code via JNI.

πŸ“¦ Included Modules

Each module is built as a standalone .aar and includes ABI-specific native .so files for:

  • arm64-v8a
  • armeabi-v7a
  • x86_64

Published artifacts:

  • compression
  • core
  • foundation
  • foundationessentials
  • i18n
  • networking
  • testing
  • xml

βœ… Features

  • Precompiled .so files from Swift 6.1.2 sysroots built using finagolfin/swift-android-sdk.
  • Fully packaged .aar files ready for direct use with Gradle + JitPack.
  • Supports minSdk 21+ and compileSdk 35.
  • Compatible with JNI and native Swift code integration on Android.

πŸ”§ How to Use

Add this to your build.gradle.kts:

repositories {
    maven { url = uri("https://jitpack.io") }
}

dependencies {
    implementation("com.github.SwifDroid.runtime-libs:core:6.1.2")
    implementation("com.github.SwifDroid.runtime-libs:foundationessentials:6.1.2")
    // Add other modules as needed
}

πŸ›  Tooling Helper Script

A new script copy-so-files.sh has been added to help extract .so files from Swift SDK bundles and place them into appropriate jniLibs/ folders.

Features:

Accepts .tar.gz, .artifactbundle, or remote URLs

Automatically extracts and copies relevant .so files

Supports --keep and --dry flags

See README.md for usage examples.

πŸ“ Notes

Each .aar contains native .so libraries inside jni/ folders.

You must configure your Android app to include these .so files in your APK (see packagingOptions or sourceSets.jniLibs if needed).

Built with Android Gradle Plugin 8.3.1 and Gradle 8.11.1.
