Twill 0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@oe oe released this 07 Oct 01:02

Twill 0.1.2 fixes shared syntax highlighting in documentation, Shiki integrations, and the VS Code extension. Native TypeScript/TSX highlighting is preserved alongside Twill extensions, including &&, ??, optional chains, implicit members, and JSX inside parameterless closures. JSX text and string/template literals retain their original scopes.

The documentation and package descriptions now explain that Twill extends TypeScript with Swift-inspired syntax and compiles to ordinary JavaScript. README and website links to the sibling SwiftUI.js project point to its homepage.

All five public npm packages and the VS Code extension are released together at 0.1.2.

Validation

  • 536 unit and grammar tests; workspace builds, type checks, examples, formatting, and package size checks passed.
  • 23 browser tests, including documentation highlighting on desktop and mobile in both themes.
  • Independent installs of the packed npm artifacts; highlighting verified with Shiki 2.5.0, 3.23.0, and 4.5.0.
  • The packaged VSIX passed integration tests in VS Code 1.95.3 and 1.140.0.

Twill 0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@oe oe released this 06 Oct 07:02

Twill 0.1.1 introduces the indigo hummingbird identity across the documentation, npm package READMEs and VS Code extension.

The documentation navigation now displays the logo with coordinated light and dark colors. The homepage hero focuses on the product message, without repeating the navigation branding. Package and extension READMEs place a compact hummingbird on the right of their H1 title, including on mobile screens.

Install

  • Documentation
  • VS Code Marketplace, extension forth-ink.twill, version 0.1.1.
  • npm: @swiftuijs/twill, @swiftuijs/twill-formatter, @swiftuijs/twill-linter, @swiftuijs/twill-export and @swiftuijs/twill-highlight, all version 0.1.1 on latest.

Validation

  • Full workspace build, type checks, 514 unit tests, example checks, dependency audit and independent packed consumers passed.
  • 21 browser regression checks passed. The final documentation layout also passed all 16 documentation checks after removing duplicate hero branding.
  • Six README layouts were rendered through GitHub Markdown and checked at desktop/mobile widths in light/dark themes (24 checks).
  • Packaged editor checks passed with VS Code 1.95.3 and stable 1.140.0; the final VSIX was verified after updating its README.

Twill 0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@oe oe released this 06 Oct 05:20

Twill 0.1.0 is the first public release of the JavaScript / TypeScript syntax-sugar language and toolchain by forth.ink.

Twill adds trailing closures, implicit member callbacks, early-exit guards, block-scoped defer and checked switch expressions. It works alongside native TS/JS and lowers to ordinary JavaScript with no language runtime library.

Install the compiler with npm install --save-dev @swiftuijs/twill or pnpm add -D @swiftuijs/twill. Optional packages provide Prettier formatting, ESLint linting, native source export and browser/SSR highlighting. All five npm packages use version 0.1.0 and the latest tag.

The VS Code extension provides highlighting, TypeScript assistance, mapped navigation and source edits, formatting, generated-source inspection and Node debugging. Install Twill 0.1.0 from the VS Code Marketplace, or run code --install-extension forth-ink.twill.

Support matrix: https://twill.evecalm.com/readiness

Release artifacts were built and verified on the publishing server: dependency audit, type/lint/format checks, 514 unit and grammar tests with coverage, 21 browser checks, current and minimum supported VS Code hosts, Node 20 independent consumers, and bundle/artifact size budgets. No GitHub CI artifacts were used for publication.

Compiler consumers require Node 20.19+ or 22.12+; the extension requires VS Code 1.95.3+. This is a normal release, not a beta or prerelease channel. The 0.x language still has documented compatibility boundaries; review the support matrix before adopting it in a production project.
