Describe the question

I'd like to run a shell command on a file, and see the output of that command running, rather than yazi immediately resuming. is there a way to do this? alternatively, is there a way to drop into a shell from yazi? as opposed to exiting into the shell.

According to this tip droping into the shell looks like this

Hi, I added that command to the yazi, but could not get the difference between exit and hitting "!". On my MacOs yazi looks like quit rather than "minimize". My expectation that it similar to the CTRL+O in MidnightCommander when I could loop through the pane or shell.

Could you explain what correct behavior for this command? Thanks

You dont close yazi. This cmd just open your shell with current pwd above yazi
Later you can close this shell (Ctrl+D) and return to current yazi state

Main idea to jump into terminal, run complex commands and return back
