Local Studio 3.0.2
Local Studio 3.0.2
This release fixes how Local Studio starts its controller and where it keeps your data.
Download: localstudio.ai/download or the assets below.
Fixes
- The app owns its controller. On launch, Local Studio checks the controller on its port. An older Local Studio controller is stopped and replaced with the current one, so new features never hit a stale controller (for example, a "NOT_FOUND /api/registry" error in Settings → Local). Packaged apps run the bundled controller; source builds run it with Bun. It stops when the app quits. Anything on the port that isn't a Local Studio controller is never touched.
- Separate data folder. Local Studio now keeps its data in
~/.local-studio, no longer in~/.t3, which upstream T3 Code also uses. Before this, installing both apps meant they shared one database and one set of sign-ins. On first launch, 3.0.2 copies your existing~/.t3/userdatainto the new folder once, so your threads come along. The original is left untouched.
Upgrading
- From 3.0.0 or 3.0.1: the app updates itself, then copies your data on first launch.
- From 2.x: install from the link above.
