Installing a third‐party e‐sim
Installing a third-party e-sim on the loop is possible once the device has been rooted. Following this guide will NOT cancel any service you have with loop/rainx, you will need to cancel that yourself directly.

You must disable the built in loop apps, or any changes you make to the modem will get reset.
Via adb shell:
su
pm disable co.rainx.loop.launcher
pm disable co.rainx.loop.setup
pm disable vendor.rainx.setupwizard.overlay
Note
The launcher may start to go funny (you will lose the loop widget on the home screen). Don't worry, a reboot will fix this (we'll do that later).
Download the OpenEUICC (https://openeuicc.com/) Magisk module.
You can download this directly on your loop, or push it to the loop from your computer. I did the latter, into a folder I had created.
adb shell mkdir /sdcard/magisk-modules
adb push ./latest.zip /sdcard/magisk-modules
Open the Magisk app, go to the modules page, and install the euicc module. The Magisk app will prompt you to reboot, do this.
We now need to disable the built-in e-sims. We're not removing them (so in theory, if you wish, you could enable it again). I am not 100% sure whether the loop app actually "installs" a new e-sim when you take out service with them (I would presume so), or whether they just enable one per device. Delete these at your own risk.
Whilst I left the modem in "dual sim" mode, and installed my own e-sim in slot 1, this was purely personal preference. I assume that it would work switching back to single sim mode and installing in slot 0.
Once the loop reboots, you will have an "OpenEUICC" app listed in your app drawer. Open it. Open the menu in the top right, tap settings, and uncheck all the "notification" checkboxes. We don't want loop knowing what we're doing, do we?
Back at the home screen, open the menu again, and check "Dual Sim" IF it is not already checked. The app will close, the modem will reset, and once 30 seconds has passed (or you see the mobile signal return in the notification bar), re-open the app.
You should now have two slots visible, maybe with an e-sim in each. One may be enabled. You need to ensure all are disabled, in both slots. To do this, open the menu on each e-sim and press disable
Now you have disabled all the current e-sims, you're ready to install a new one. In theory any e-sim where they provide a QR code, or Server / Activation code details should work.
Make sure you're in the slot you want to install the sim in, and press on the "add" button in the bottom right
Either input (manually) the Server and Activation Code (and Confirmation code, if provided), or download the QR code as an image to your loop. The camera function did not work on my device. Leave the IMEI alone.
For iDmobile, they provide the activation code as two lines. These need to be entered as a single line.
Once the e-sim is installed, it will be disabled. You will need to open the menu on the e-sim, and press enable.
Congratulations, you should now have an active third-party e-sim enabled on your loop. All of my sim functions appear to work (Yes, you can use the loop as a phone for incoming/outgoing calls, it is very obnoxious!) along with SMS and data.
