Release list
v13.1.0
Environment-owned render validation
Application.validate_render()now discoversmmdcthrough the execution environment and verifies both installed Mermaid and Mermaid CLI versions before rendering.- Missing runtime packages return
renderer_unavailable; an incompatible engine or CLI pair returnsversion_mismatchwith supported and observed versions. - Mermaiden remains a binary-free Python package: it does not bundle Node.js, Mermaid CLI, Puppeteer, Chrome, or a runtime image.
- CI and package verification now render through Puppeteer's version-compatible browser, including an isolated installed-wheel consumer proof.
Migration
- Upgrade the Python package to
mermaiden==13.1.0. - Read the supported pair from
Application.mermaid_versionandApplication.mermaid_cli_version. - During environment or image construction, install those exact
mermaidand@mermaid-js/mermaid-cliversions and runnpx puppeteer browsers install. - Put that installation's
node_modules/.binon the runtimePATH. - Continue calling only
Application.validate_render(); do not pass executable or browser paths into Mermaiden.
Application startup and render validation perform no downloads. Existing source rendering and snapshot behavior remain available without the external renderer environment.
v13.0.0
Mermaid 12 rendering stack
- Upgrade the supported Mermaid engine to 12.2.0 and Mermaid CLI to 12.0.0.
- Keep engine and CLI versions as separate public authorities.
- Reconcile typed configuration contracts with the Mermaid 12 schema and adopt the accepted Mermaid 12 rendering appearance.
- Refresh browser-rendered SVG evidence and configuration compatibility metadata.
- Add a scheduled, separately invocable freshness check for newer stable releases in the selected 12.x line.
Breaking compatibility
- Advance the Mermaiden snapshot contract from v8 to v9.
- Older snapshots remain explicitly rejected; there is no implicit migration or fallback interpretation.
Full delivery: #163.

v11.0.0
Breaking change
The diagram snapshot contract advances from version 6 to version 7 because class types now support an ordered recursive list of generic arguments. Earlier snapshots are intentionally rejected; this release does not provide implicit migration or compatibility reading.
Class attributes, method parameters, and return types now preserve multi-argument and deeply nested generics through validation, updates, snapshots, restoration, Mermaid source generation, and SVG rendering.
