0.4.0
v0.4.0 is a ground-up rewrite of omdrop-owl in Rust. It replaces the patched OWL daemon + the shell and Python code around it with one clean AWDL and AirDrop stack.
Benefits
- A standalone CLI.
owly browse, owly sendandowly receivedo AirDrop from the terminal. - Easier to install. There are prebuilt packages for Debian, Ubuntu and Fedora, plus
omdrop-owl-binon the AUR with nothing to compile. Building from source no longer needs a C toolchain or libpcap and libnl. - Easier to diagnose.
owly doctorsays whether your card can do AirDrop and what's in the way.owly test-cardchecks it against an iPhone and writes a report you can contribute. - More robust. The code is memory-safe where it parses frames from nearby devices, and every radio mode is tested on simulated Wi-Fi in CI.
