While majority of the mod's features are already configurable, you can customize them even further by using resourcepacks to edit styles of certain elements.

Status Gauge

This is the main gauge which display the player stats. You can edit assets/souls_combat_hud/souls_bars/party_gauge.json to change customization.

Resourcepacks are merged with the default style, so you may create a player_gauge.json with only the values you wish to change. Please note that an invalid style will revert back to the mod's default style, you may check the logs for errors.

General properties

  • override - This will override customization instead of merging with the main file.
    • This is available for most entries
    • Use this in top level of the file to completely replace all status gauge styling
    • Use this in {"gauges":{"override:true}} to change the order of status bars

/crest

This includes customization for changing crest, hunger, and armor icons.

/gauges/elements

This includes customization for styling the different bars. Do note that the order of bar elements reflects the order of the bar position aswell.

Party Gauge

This is a copy of the status gauge which display party member stats. You can edit assets/souls_combat_hud/souls_bars/player_gauge.json to change customization.

Bossbar

Bossbar styling is determined by translation keys that vanilla minecraft sends to clients. You can set custom styles inside assets/<namespace>/souls_bars/entities. See ender_dragon.json as an example.

  • target_names - List of translation keys or string match of entities whom the boss bar styling should appear on. This will only work if the entity is already using a vanilla bossbar.

Bar Styling

Stylized bars are utilized in status gauges, boss bars, and oxygen bar. It is responsible for showing bar decorations and value decrease reveal. See either status gauge or boss bar json to see all possible fields.

  • ornament_texture - Texture name of bar ornament inside assets/<namespace>/textures/gui/sprites/souls_bars. Here is a preview of how it is overlayed.

  • The left and right caps are 16 x 16 which is positioned relatively centered to the start/end of the bar. This means that there is a small section where you can overlap the middle section.
  • The middle section is a 48 x 16 which is positioned either left or right depending on the anchor. This region is tiled for the full width of the bar.
  • The 4th tile contains the progress notch.

You may see example ornaments here: oxygen_bar_ornament.png bossbar_ornament.png.

Server Config

Server owners can change performance settings or restrict players from being able to track certain stats from other players.

Baseline and Projected Max Values

These are values which determine the dynamic scaling of status bars. Baseline values are currently set to their respective default values. In most use cases, change projected_max into your preferred value which you think the stats of an late game player would have.

  • Clients can reject these values through config.

Server Restrictions

These restrict which certain stats can be tracked. If disabled, the clients will not see the bars from their end. These are some notable config options, please see your server config file for the full list.

  • disable_party_tracking - Completely disables party gauges
  • force_team_source - Which team source (Vanilla or FTB Teams) should party tracking be allowed, set to AUTO to let allow what is available for the player.

Server Performance

Party tracking requires an interval amount of time to make sure party stats are updated. By default, values are updated 1/2 a second. There are also certain events such as casting a spell or dodging which tells the server to update instantly. Please see your server config file for the full list.

  • ticks_interval - Ticks to update party stats, this ensures stats are updated for cases that event updates dont cover.
  • min_instant_update_ticks - Throttle ticks when updating party stats based on events such as dodging, spellcasting, etc.
  • min_health_update_ticks - Throttle ticks when updating health stat of players when taking damage or healing.
