Breaking Changes

  • SubscriberMessage.publish_time is now a timezone-aware UTC datetime instead of a naive one; use .replace(tzinfo=None) to restore the previous behaviour (#1159)
  • SubscriberMessage.to_repr() now includes microseconds in publishTime, eg. 2020-01-01T00:00:01.123456Z (#1159)

Bugfixes

  • publishTime values with more than 6 fractional digits (ie. nanosecond precision) no longer raise ValueError when parsed (#1159)
  • SubscriberMessage.to_repr() now converts non-UTC publish_time values to UTC rather than labelling them Z as-is (#1159)
  • the subscriber's receive-latency metric is now correct on hosts whose local timezone isn't UTC (#1159)

Internal

  • drop Python 3.10 support; minimum is now 3.11.3 (#1157)
  • use asyncio.timeout instead of asyncio.wait_for (#1157)
  • annotate __aenter__ with typing.Self (#1157)
