v0.1.20
A patch release that boots the earliest 2.6 kernels on x86_64, fixes their builds from 2.6.5 to 2.6.8, and stops two machine quirks from looking like compiler results.
Changes:
- x86_64 kernels before 2.6.4 boot on an AMD cpu with 39 physical address bits. Their setup code checks a CPUID bit only AMD sets, and with fewer than 40 address bits QEMU leaves the HyperTransport hole out of the memory map. 2.6.4 to 2.6.15 keep the Intel vendor. (#230)
- The NR_CPUS notice a uniprocessor kernel prints for the second cpu is no longer counted as a splat, so those cells can reach L8. (#231)
- x86_64 2.6.5 to 2.6.8 get the i386 pci headers linked into their output tree, which their Makefile looks for there under O=. (#232)
Findings:
tcg-hpet-clockclassifies the clock check failing in some boots of x86_64 kernels before 2.6.21, whose time of day is interpolated from the HPET counter or the TSC. (#233)
