@tanisperez tanisperez released this 16 Oct 17:16

The first public release of Vano, a light, native disk analyzer: see what fills your disk and clear it safely.

Highlights

  • Fast scanner. Scan your home folder, the whole disk or any folder. Folders are read in parallel: a home folder with 780,000 files takes under half a second with a warm cache. Sizes are the space really allocated on disk, hard links count once, and other file systems are not entered.
  • Animated explorer. A treemap you zoom into folder by folder, plus rings by category and a ranking of the largest entries. The same views grow live while the scan runs.
  • Recommendations it can explain. Package caches, build outputs, browser and editor caches are marked safe to remove; SDKs, AI models, idle node_modules, virtual environments, old installers and big recordings are marked review first, with the reason. Cleanup coloring shows where the reclaimable space sits.
  • Nothing is deleted. Items go to the system Trash after a confirmation that lists them, with Undo right after.
  • Light. About 60 MB of memory at rest, and an idle window does no work.
  • Recent scans reopen without scanning again.
  • Light and dark themes, three accents (Indigo, Graphite, Electric blue), and English, Spanish, Galician and Italian.
  • In-app updates on Windows and macOS.
