Highlights
- Added explicit
orxSTATUS.isSuccessandorxSTATUS.isFailurepredicates. - Added value-oriented vector arithmetic and operators while retaining the pointer-based APIs.
- Added object pivot, origin, size, position, scale, and speed value overloads through the exported
objectsmodule. - Added call-scoped Nim
stringoverloads for input, configuration, resources, objects, FX, and sounds. - Expanded regression coverage for boolean ABI rules, statuses, vectors, object overloads, and dynamic strings.
Compatibility
- Breaking:
orxBOOLis now a distinct C-sized type instead of an alias ofcuint. Boolean converters and ABI size are preserved, but integer-style uses now require explicit conversion. - Existing pointer-oriented vector and object APIs remain available.
- Norx continues to require Nim 2.2.4 or newer and matching ORX 1.17 runtime libraries.
Samples
- Reworked Pong into a complete two-player game with fixed-step collision handling, scoring, sound, readable UI, pause/restart controls, and startup checks.
- Added a complete Boulder Dash sample with generated caves, digging, collectibles, falling tiles, scoring, sound, licensed assets, and startup checks.
Verification
- Passed all core Nim checks and linked object tests.
- Passed official and standalone sample compilation checks.
- Passed Pong and Boulder Dash runtime startup suites.
