Provider reliability and token-efficiency improvements for everyday local and hosted workflows.

Provider reliability

  • More reliable managed credential persistence, provider setup, discovery, streaming, tool calls, and restart behavior.
  • Live installed-model discovery and exact model-tag selection for local runtimes.
  • Clearer diagnostics for throughput limits, context-window limits, and request-size limits.

Token efficiency

  • Economy, Balanced, and Thorough usage modes.
  • More accurate visibility into physical provider attempts, retries, fallbacks, caching, reasoning, auxiliary work, subagents, aggregation, and compression.
  • Reduced repeated tool and file context, with compression and usage state preserved across restart.
  • Human-readable /usage and /usage details, stable machine-readable /usage --json, plus /estimate and /budget controls.

Validation

  • 6,684 deterministic tests passed; 39 skipped.
  • Typecheck and production build passed.
  • Windows, macOS, and Linux CI passed.
