Gridlink Mail 2.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@tatelink tatelink released this 09 Oct 23:05

Two fixes, nothing new to learn.

  • Syncing no longer asks the server for more mail per batch than it is willing to hand back, so large folders fill in reliably.
  • Settings is drawn with the same palette as the rest of the app instead of its own.

The jump from 1.0.0 is housekeeping: it keeps Gridlink's version numbers from colliding with upstream Sterna's (which already shipped 1.0.1 through 1.6.0).

Gridlink Mail 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@tatelink tatelink released this 24 Aug 02:01

Gridlink Mail 1.0.0. The interface is finished; this is the release it was heading for.

  • Reading: choose whether opening a message marks it read, or leave that to the swipe and the button.
  • Filters can now ask about more than one thing at a time, and act on more than one.
  • Mail tags are read from the server itself, so tags made in another client show up here.
  • Contacts read as facts, not as a form nobody can type in, and can be deleted from the edit screen.
  • Calendar: tapping a day takes the reading pane back, and scrolling the agenda moves the month grid with it.
  • Off switches are drawn in ink, so an off setting stops reading as an unavailable one.
  • Attachments open and save against the message's own account, and photos in the formats phones actually shoot.
  • Forms keep their pane when the keyboard is up, instead of being squeezed into the last inch of the screen.
  • Around 700 new tests covering every screen.

The signer digest is the one that matters for an update: it is the same key every earlier build
was signed with, which is why Android installs this over an existing copy instead of asking you
to uninstall first. Check it with apksigner verify --print-certs.

The APK is reproducible. Two clean builds of this tree produced byte-identical output, so anyone
building v1.0.0 from source should arrive at the same hash above.
