Forca Slicer 0.1.0-alpha.2
Windows 64-bit · alpha · 2026-10-02 · based on OrcaSlicer's 2.5.0 development line
The second public alpha of Forca Slicer, a fork of OrcaSlicer. Still an alpha: it works on my printers, and I'd
like to hear how it does on yours — tell me what breaks,
or what works.
What's new since alpha.1
- Printer calibration in the Calibration Wizard: besides filaments, the wizard now calibrates your printer
— Input Shaping, Cornering and VFA, using OrcaSlicer's own tests. Results go into your printer preset (with a
backup and a restore button) or a new "(calibrated)" preset; Klipper users also get the printer.cfg lines. - The Calibration Wizard is translated into all 22 of OrcaSlicer's languages (machine translations for now —
corrections welcome). - Forca Academy print journal (off by default, Preferences → Forca Academy): every print Forca sends gets a
plain-files record (printer, presets, filaments, settings, a plate picture), File → Print Journal to mark how it
went, and on Bambu printers Forca follows the print to its end, with optional camera pictures. Nothing is uploaded. - Forca AI (experimental, off by default):
- Control levels: Guarded (the default, as before) or Advanced, where the AI may save over your files and
presets (Forca backs each one up first) and a print request opens the print dialog directly — you still press
Send. - Print grants (Advanced only, Bambu printers): you can let the AI start prints itself, within limits you set —
which printers, how many prints, for how long, the longest print, and optionally which files (with copies and
a note). Every grant print needs a clear bed (your click, or, if you allow it, the AI's camera check), goes
through the normal print dialog, and shows a 10-second countdown you can cancel.
- Control levels: Guarded (the default, as before) or Advanced, where the AI may save over your files and
- Fixes: the Max Volumetric Speed test's brim now holds on both sides of its wall (PCTG lifted before); Forca
AI's G-code export runs your post-processing scripts; two Preferences tooltips are translated again; and more —
see the changelog.
Before you install
- Keep your normal slicer. Forca uses its own settings folder and can copy your OrcaSlicer settings on first
start (it never changes OrcaSlicer's). - The build isn't code-signed yet: Windows SmartScreen will warn — More info → Run anyway.
- Check the preview and the first layers of anything that matters.

Known issues
See KNOWN_ISSUES.md. Most
important: Windows only; Forca can close shortly after sending a print to a Bambu printer (the print carries on —
it's in Bambu's network plugin); Forca AI is experimental.

Forca Slicer 0.1.0-alpha.1 — first public alpha
Windows 64-bit · alpha · 2026-09-26 · based on OrcaSlicer's 2.5.0 development line
This is the first public build of Forca Slicer, a fork of OrcaSlicer. It works on my printers; it has not been
tested on yours yet. That's what this release is for: please try it, and tell me what breaks.
What's in it
- Regional support interfaces: a different interface filament and a flush release gap only where you choose
(placed box or painted area), on Grid, Snug, Tree and Organic supports. - Calibration Wizard: Temperature → Max Volumetric Speed → Flow → Pressure Advance → Retraction → Shrinkage,
guided, per filament, saved as one "(calibrated)" preset. - Forca AI (experimental, off by default): an AI assistant can operate the slicer; it never overwrites your
files, and it can only ask to print — you approve in Forca. - Everything else is OrcaSlicer, merged up to late September 2026 — including Orca's experimental Design (CAD) tab,
off until you enable it in Preferences.
