NounCleaner v0.8: Welcome!
Pre-releaseI am thrilled to announce the first release of NounCleaner, version 0.8. This tool is designed to simplify the process of using SVG files from TheNounProject.com by cleaning them up and managing their attribution information efficiently. With this initial release, my focus has been on creating a robust, user-friendly tool that works across various platforms and enhances your workflow.
Note on "Pre Release"
This is a simple little tool that does a simple little thing. The project I'm inspired by has 1 star and is 8 years old, I'm not expecting this to become popular or anything and I am not going to invest a lot more time into it as it works for me. If there are bugs please make an issue and I'll try to fix it. Consider this a Google style launch where this is probably the best it's going to be and I'm just calling it beta to avoid the social liability of it not working 100%
Features:
- Cross-Platform Support: NounCleaner supports Windows, Linux, and macOS (Darwin), ensuring compatibility across a wide range of devices and setups.
- Custom Directory Options: You can specify input and output directories with
-iand-oflags, offering greater control over how and where your SVGs are processed. - Drag-and-Drop Feature for Windows: A drag-and-drop feature allows Windows users to easily clean a folder of SVGs by dropping it onto the NounCleaner executable, streamlining the process.
- Accurate Attribution Compilation: The tool more accurately extracts and compiles attribution information into a single, organized text file, aiding in proper credit to SVG creators.
Installation:
For installation instructions and detailed usage guidelines, please refer to the README included with the download.
Note:
As this is the inaugural release of NounCleaner.
For more detailed information on features, installation, and usage, please consult the README file. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to me, so if you have any suggestions or encounter any issues, don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for trying out NounCleaner. I hope it serves as a valuable tool in your creative projects, making it easier to use and attribute SVG icons appropriately.
Happy Cleaning,
Travis Peacock
