How you enable server side screen sharing?

I am using tailscale with some friends to connect to a teamspeak 6 server, we cannot use p2p screen sharing, we tried and it simply doesn't work. is there any way of enabling the feature? i couldn't find anything online in how to enable that feature.

had the same issue - i thought, that i was using teamspeak 6, but my server was configured to pull the ts3 image (docker compose)

check your config and make sure, you are running ts6

teamspeaksystems/teamspeak6-server:latest that is the image i am using, server side screen sharing doesn't work, and i see no way of enabling it.

The ports are commented out because the connection works trough tailscale. Which to my understanding forbids p2p connections between guests. That is why I need the server side screenshare feature. But when we are connected to the server the feature is greyed out.(in the line that says P2P/server the server part is greyed out.)

sounds like a routing issue. might want to check the ports being used when screen sharing and then check if they are getting routed in the tailscale container correctly. i would also assume the ts6 server is acting as the tracker for the p2p streaming which also suggests to check how clients connect to each other when not using tailscale. depending on your vpn setup other clients connected my not be routable to from the client device with ts running.

Tailscale forbid peers from communicating with eachother. that is why i want the server side screen sharing, i think that should work over tailscale. but i don't know how to enable it, because from what i understand the Voicechat on ts6 isn't p2p, but the screensharing is, so with server side screen sharing i think it would work. it would be a hassle adding bidirectionality (which i think is needed for p2p) because that would mean they need to be in the same tailnet and that wouldn't be very secure to be honest.

TLDR: server side screensharing should fix it?

based on a ts5 diagram on all the planned features of which many have come to light in ts6. (wish i had a link still) think the screensharing was not baked in the teamspeak server part but a separate module and ts3 was still being used for the voice part just other modules for the new features like screensharing, decentralised chat. given the current implementation available of ts6 client and server i believe its all handled in the client, transcoding wise makes sense.
Teamspeak staff gona need to shed some light, but i think this straight up isnt a feature on this current ts6 server iteration.

Hey everyone, to clarify: server-side screen sharing is not yet available on the TeamSpeak 6 Server. The only connection mode currently available is P2P (Peer-to-Peer).

I wish the develop team enable this feature sooner. The P2P screen sharing does not work on any network in my country (unless both sides have the same IP) and i assume its the same way for the most countries.
