@yangglive yangglive released this 02 Oct 03:31

What's New

Fixes

  • Canvases open again in the installed app. In 0.4.0-beta.1 the canvas compiler's dependencies were missing from the package, so every canvas failed with “Cannot find module … esbuild”.
  • Every release now compiles a sample canvas inside each built app before it is published.
  • This preview includes everything in 0.4.0-beta.1.

What's New

Canvases

  • Build documents, tables, charts and App interfaces as one kind of canvas, backed by editable React source and shown in a single canvas library.
  • Create canvases with the built-in Canvas Authoring app in Code mode: start from a document, report or dashboard template, preview with real App data, inspect the rendered result and activate a version when it is ready.
  • Give canvases their own icons and colors. App changes made from a canvas are confirmed one at a time and recorded.
  • Existing canvases are converted to editable source on upgrade. Images that are no longer available become a placeholder instead of blocking the upgrade.

New Desktop Layout

  • A redesigned shell with an activity rail, and matching sidebars, home pages and breadcrumbs for conversations, canvases, apps, scheduled tasks and projects.
  • Settings open as a full page with grouped sections, one content width and consistent headings.
  • Mentions for apps, skills and canvases share one @type/id(name) format.
  • Conversations keep your reading position while panels resize or collapse.

Models and Reliability

  • New model presets: Claude Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5; GPT 6.1 Sol and GPT 6 Luna; GLM 5.3. OpenRouter cost estimates assume an 80% cache hit rate.
  • Live updates resume after a slow connection catches up, cancelled turns are recorded as cancelled, and daemon token checks and attachment responses are hardened.
  • Electron 44.4.5, Go 1.26.6 and patched dependencies.
  • The database moves from schema v24 to v26 with an automatic backup first. After upgrading, 0.3.10 can no longer open the data.

What's New

Notifications and Workspace

  • Receive background notifications when a conversation completes or needs approval, with a shortcut back to its session.
  • Refine collaboration and scheduled-task cards, session icons, image-viewer translations, and model reasoning controls.
  • Identify and remove unavailable models from provider lists.

Permissions and Agent Tools

  • Grant and revoke temporary session directory access without changing shared project settings, and review additional directories alongside command approvals.
  • Show file-copy sources, destinations, and overwrite scope; recheck changes before committing and preserve existing files on copy failure.
  • Let agents inspect their subtasks and background commands, reuse session attachment analysis files, and receive clearer path, search, patch, and argument diagnostics.
  • Improve Git discovery isolation, command output handling, and process cleanup.

Browser and Reliability

  • Preserve unsaved webpage content when closing is cancelled, including during bulk tab closure.
  • Recover local-file previews after missing files are restored, while preserving tab identity, navigation history, and file authorization.
  • Wait for active work before cleaning up archived or deleted sessions, and reclaim orphaned attachments safely.
  • Keep database schema v24 and existing macOS requirements; upgrading from 0.3.9 requires no database migration.

v0.3.9

@yangglive yangglive released this 24 Sep 03:46

What's New

Workspace Experience

  • Redesign workspace content tab controls: the close button now overlays the tab icon on hover, maximizing visible title width for browser and document tabs.
  • Refine horizontal scroll overflow masks with compact, smooth transitions.
  • Compact toolbar icon button spacing and align macOS traffic light inset for a cleaner visual rhythm.

Conversation & Collaboration

  • Introduce session avatar displays across collaboration and workspace views for clearer identity distinction.
  • Stabilize transcript tool disclosures, message virtualizer scrolling, and layout resizing behavior.
  • Support branching new conversations from pasted-text sessions.
  • Open local HTML files in workspace browser tabs directly from markdown links.

Models & Compatibility

  • Update MiMo model presets to v2.6.
  • Standardize OpenAI content filter response handling in core daemon.
  • Maintain full compatibility with schema version 24; no database migration is required from 0.3.8.

@yangglive yangglive released this 22 Sep 02:19

What's New

macOS Reliability

  • Give Pudding's Electron app and helper executables distinct, reproducible UUIDs while preserving the existing app identity and signing chain. Record the upstream UUIDs for release verification and crash-symbol lookup.

Conversation Experience

  • Improve header and sidebar spacing, let Markdown tables use the available width, and keep recent workspace items accessible in compact windows.
  • Clear stale turn activity when a completed, failed, or cancelled turn appears in saved conversation history, including when its final event arrives late or is missed.

Compatibility

  • Continue using schema version 24 with no database migration from Pudding 0.3.7. Minimum macOS versions remain 14.0 for Apple Silicon and 15.5 for Intel.

v0.3.7

@yangglive yangglive released this 21 Sep 13:14

What's New

Collaboration

  • Delegate work to child conversations, with up to three concurrent subtasks per main conversation. Review progress, open child conversations in the workspace, and collect their results in the original conversation.
  • Handle child approvals and questions from the main conversation while keeping each task's messages and permissions scoped to its own session.

Scheduled Tasks

  • Create one-time, delayed, daily, and weekly tasks from a conversation or the task manager. Use an existing conversation or create a new one with your chosen model.
  • Edit, pause, resume, run, and delete plans; inspect execution history and receive desktop notifications. Pudding must be running and the computer awake; missed times are not automatically replayed.

Conversation Experience

  • Improve workspace conversation search, localized app names, and model reasoning controls, including DeepSeek model selection.
  • Refine failed-turn details and retry history, and avoid redundant child event subscriptions that could delay approvals.

Upgrade

  • Upgrade schema version 20 to 24 with an automatic pre-upgrade backup while preserving existing conversations and messages.
  • Downgrading to Pudding 0.3.6 requires restoring the pre-upgrade backup. macOS requirements remain 14.0 or later for Apple Silicon and 15.5 or later for Intel.

@yangglive yangglive released this 20 Sep 13:10

What's New

Retry Failed Turns

  • Retry the latest failed turn without resending your original message. Continue from saved conversation history and completed tool results.
  • Keep earlier attempts in a collapsible history, including after refresh and restart. Prevent duplicate retry submissions and stale events from reviving an older attempt.

Models and Reasoning

  • Use five consistent reasoning choices for supported models while adapting requests to known provider capabilities and preserving your saved preferences.
  • Improve model-picker transitions, short-window layout, keyboard focus, and reduced-motion behavior.

Commands and Conversation Layout

  • Run loops, variables, functions, and scripts within the authorized project sandbox in Auto mode without extra prompts solely for dynamic syntax. Explicit risks and permission extensions still require review; Ask mode still confirms commands.
  • Improve Markdown tables with compact short columns, wrapped long content, and horizontal scrolling within wide tables.

Upgrade

  • Upgrade version 19 databases to version 20 with a transactional migration and an automatic pre-upgrade backup, preserving existing conversations and project data.
  • Downgrading a version 20 database to Pudding 0.3.5 requires restoring the pre-upgrade backup.

v0.3.5

@yangglive yangglive released this 20 Sep 08:11

What's New

Desktop and Local Files

  • Run the desktop application with a separately versioned local Agent backend while preserving the app identity and local data location.
  • Open local HTML pages in the browser workspace and resolve chat and project file links with scoped access.
  • Improve transcript positioning, message pairing, and layout stability across streaming and session switches.

Models and Command Approvals

  • Improve per-session model selection and reasoning controls, including OpenRouter and BuzzHive model synchronization.
  • Reuse narrowly scoped command approvals within a session and inspect or revoke them from session settings.
  • Strengthen command argument and shell policy checks while supporting local development servers.

Project Activity and Upgrade

  • Preserve project activity ordering when sessions are archived or deleted and when project metadata changes.
  • Upgrade version 18 databases to version 19 with a transactional migration and an automatic pre-upgrade backup; existing version 19 databases need no new schema migration.
  • Keep existing conversations and project data. Downgrading a version 19 database to Pudding 0.3.4 requires restoring the pre-upgrade backup.

Licensing

  • Publish Pudding Core under Apache-2.0 and distribute Pudding Desktop under a free-use proprietary license for personal and commercial use.
  • Include the application license and third-party notices in the app bundle, with exact application-license verification during packaging.

v0.3.4

Choose a tag to compare

@yangglive yangglive released this 14 Sep 10:15

What's New

Long Conversations

  • Compact long conversations safely before oversized model requests and between complete tool exchanges, while retaining the current task, recent inputs, the latest tool results, attachments, and provider continuation state.
  • Enforce model-aware input budgets that reserve output space and estimation headroom, and preserve generated replies that end at a provider length limit while rejecting incomplete compact summaries.
  • Keep compaction progress, savings, failures, cancellation, and refresh recovery stable inside the transcript without duplicating streamed tool output or creating empty assistant rows.

Providers and Models

  • Import structured model candidates from OpenRouter, BuzzHive, Anthropic, and Gemini, including display names, context windows, output limits, and explicitly reported image, audio, and tool capabilities.
  • Prefer endpoint metadata, fill only missing fields from exact model presets, and leave saved provider profiles unchanged until a candidate is explicitly added.
  • Refresh the OpenRouter presets with its free router and six commonly used paid models, with model-specific capabilities and limits.

Integration and Reliability

  • Attribute model traffic to Pudding across OpenAI Chat Completions, OpenAI Responses, Anthropic, and Gemini-compatible gateways using the standard OpenRouter application headers.
  • Preserve canonical history during compaction with atomic snapshot and active-turn ownership checks, monotonic lifecycle events, and no database migration.
  • Clarify the supported file-search context range and guide larger-context reads to precise file slices.

v0.3.3

Choose a tag to compare

@yangglive yangglive released this 12 Sep 14:50

What's New

Conversation and Performance

  • Keep long streaming replies responsive with background syntax highlighting, batched text updates, and on-demand rendering of collapsed tool details.
  • Preserve streamed reply segments and attachments across multiple steering inputs, and keep queued inputs in a stable order.
  • Use a fixed deadline for requested user input while retaining late answers, draft reopening, and duplicate-safe delivery.
  • Keep the compacting row in place as the saved summary arrives, avoiding jumps during conversation compaction.

Tools and Model Context

  • Reduce oversized tool results in model requests while preserving the original results in conversation history. Read back specific fields, matching lines, or complete array records when needed.
  • Provide precise context and candidate locations when a patch does not match, without automatically relocating or applying it.
  • Improve certificate validation for sandboxed commands and reduce routine Git approval prompts while retaining repository, index, and drift checks.

Models and Workspace

  • Add an optional DeepSeek Responses connection and fix pairing of parallel Responses tool calls and results.
  • Refresh provider model presets, capability metadata, and output limits. Let new model configurations use provider-default temperature without overwriting saved profiles.
  • Improve narrow-window layouts, project change-list scrolling, model settings, and app-icon overflow counts and menus.
  • Distinguish dictation from raw audio input and pause decorative animation while the window is unfocused.

Data and Updates

  • Keep database schema v18 unchanged; upgrading from 0.3.2 requires no new migration or migration-backup cleanup.
  • Preserve the established signed macOS update flow and fix preview-version validation in the update test runner.
