Corrective release on the 4.x line.

Why this exists: 4.1.7 was published in error today from the 4.1.6 base rather than the 4.2.x line, so it omitted fixes already shipped in 4.2.0–4.2.3. 4.2.4 re-lands the 4.1.7 maintenance work on top of 4.2.3 and is its proper successor; 4.1.7 is deprecated on npm.

4.2.x behavior restored (missing from 4.1.7)

  • Scalar falsy cells (false, 0) render and are measured for column width again (#71)
  • CLI stdin is buffered to completion before parsing — no chunk-boundary corruption on large pipes (#96, from 4.2.1)
  • Column widths coerced to integers (from 4.2.2)
  • footerColor present in the published types (from 4.2.3)

Maintenance carried from the 4.1.7 work

  • Dependency refreshes within the same majors (csv, kleur, strip-ansi, yargs, dev tooling)
  • Performance: ASCII display-width fast path, hoisted ANSI regexes, per-column option bases, per-table width memoization, per-render column state reset
  • Backported fixes: large-input argument limits, string-header rendering, resize-aware width cache, truncate-marker overflow
  • CI workflow: lint + example goldens + regression suite on Node 18/20/22
