ShellCanvas v0.1.6
ShellCanvas 0.1.6 improves Windows SSH hosts and makes the optional Drive Bridge easier to install and manage.
- Install or update Drive Bridge from official signed downloads in Settings → Files. Packages are selected for your local platform and checked against the desktop's SDK protocol. The filesystem driver remains a separate installation.
- Files drive cards show the local attachment path and a Detach action, synchronized across windows.
- Windows host drive discovery now reaches the correct provider through workspace bindings.
- Existing-file saves on Windows SSH hosts use explicit confirmation when atomic replacement with permission preservation is unavailable. Stale-edit checks and the existing file's security descriptor are preserved.
- SFTP transfers use compatible request sizes, and Windows path/handle metadata differences are handled without dropping revision checks.
- Remote clock refresh tolerates bounded Windows PowerShell startup and brief failures.
Windows NSIS and MSI installers include signed updater metadata. Existing installations with the updater can install this version after confirming; unsaved work, active operations and attached drives must be resolved first. User data remains in the existing profile.
Use Drive Bridge 0.1.2 for the closed-file rename/delete fixes. Bridge 0.1.0 was withdrawn due to a protocol mismatch. Simultaneous readers/writers and renaming open files remain accepted Windows SFTP limitations. Legitimate Windows sharing refusals remain respected; no remote helper or lock-bypassing workaround is used. Native macOS Drive Bridge acceptance remains pending. These limitations are documented in the repository backlog.
Validation includes local frontend and Rust checks, user-confirmed installation and drive UI, and real Windows SSH/native attachment probes. This desktop release publishes Windows installers; additional desktop platforms remain separately validated and published.
