Whitepaper v1.0.1
The Republic whitepaper, v1.0.1 — An agentic governance plane for AI-driven software development.
This tag names the whitepaper's version, not a platform release. The platform substrate is enacted and enforcing; the containerized agent layer is the current front, and the paper's §7 reports that state plainly, including what does not run yet.
Read it
docs/WHITEPAPER.md— the canonical path, always the current version.docs/REPUBLIC_WHITEPAPER_v1.0.1.md— this immutable instance, also attached below.
A new version adds a versioned file and overwrites the canonical one; versioned files are never edited after creation. The build gate fails if the canonical file drifts from the newest versioned instance, so the public link cannot quietly go stale.
What v1.0.1 changes
v1.0 was ratified on 2026-08-13 from rc9 without amendment. v1.0.1 is a citation supersession and leaves that ratification untouched: the paper's posture citations now resolve to their landed atom IDs (SPEC-0122, SPEC-0123, with SPEC-0128 reserved), the atom count is pinned to a named verification HEAD, and the mitigation stories are cited as chartered. A patch that re-cited its sources is not a new ruling.
The release condition the paper set for itself — that every cited ID resolves for a verifying reader — is met as of this tag.
Checkable claims
The paper is written to be refutable, so its own factual claims are checkable against this repository:
| claim | verification |
|---|---|
| every atom ID the paper cites resolves | 6/6 — SPEC-0122, SPEC-0123, SPEC-0128, DEC-0001, DEC-0004, STORY-0014 |
| "172 active atoms at verification HEAD (97ee84f)" | exact at that commit — the pin holds because it names the commit |
| the founding enactment | tagged dec-0001-enacted |
| evidence records | committed under platform/acta/ |
| the standing queries | python platform/tools/embedder.py --report |
Under the truth model the paper describes, this rendering is the ratified instance. Where it and the resolved record disagree, the record wins.
License
The repository's outbound license is decided but not yet enacted: DEC-0002 names AGPL-3.0-only, granted personally by the owner, and stands at proposed with no LICENSE file committed. Until it is, the holding posture is all rights reserved — public for inspection, not yet licensed for reuse.
