0.4.1

  • Security: a draft sharing a published post's slug, with an earlier date, could replace the published post's Markdown body (reported by an external audit). The singular query must now hold exactly the eligible post, otherwise the URL gets the HTML page and no Markdown alternate link, and only the eligible post's ID is ever converted.
  • Non-content elements (script, style, iframe, svg and the like) are removed in linear time; many unclosed openers no longer make rendering slow.
  • Stray output printed while rendering is discarded, and all headers are decided before any is sent. Responses whose status another plugin already changed, and trackback URLs, are left alone.
  • The updater tolerates malformed release metadata and retries a failed check after one hour instead of twelve.
  • Documentation: one cache policy, the cacheable opt-out as an installation step for caches that ignore Vary, and the limits of template-layer gates.

  • Eligible posts advertise the Markdown representation with a Link header and a tag in the head, so agents can discover it from a HEAD request or the page.
  • Security: the main query is run again signed out before rendering, so membership gates that decide at query time see the same signed-out visitor as the content filters.
  • The HTTP test suite runs in CI against a disposable WordPress in Docker on PHP 8.4 and 8.5.

  • Adjacent links with nothing between them (phone, email, "read more" in layout cards) are separated by a space.

  • Markdown responses are cached by the HTTP cache in front of the site like the HTML page, keyed by Vary: Accept. Verified on Seravo.
  • New filter accept_markdown/cacheable: return false behind a cache that ignores Vary to send no-store instead.

  • Author and plugin URI in the plugin header, so the Plugins screen shows them.

  • Updates arrive through the WordPress updater from GitHub releases (Update URI header), with a working "View details" window.
  • Security: the Markdown handler runs last on template_redirect, so login walls and maintenance modes from other plugins run first.
  • Security: content is rendered through the real the_content chain in the main loop, so membership and paywall restrictions apply to the Markdown. Shortcodes and third-party content filters now run as on the page.
  • License changed to MIT.
  • Added readme.txt.
