Release list
valumi 1.3
A tiny crypto price ticker for the Waveshare 1.47" ESP32-C6 boards: live prices and charts from OKX, set up and controlled from your phone through the ticker's own web panel. One firmware for both boards, the plain ESP32-C6-LCD-1.47 and the ESP32-C6-Touch-LCD-1.47.
New in 1.3
- Plain board colours fixed. The ST7789 panel now also has its own gamma-correction table loaded at startup.
- New chart fill. One gradient across the chart, cut off by the line: bright under the peaks, dim in the troughs.
- Smoother animation. No more flicker when a page lands.
- A ticker with a single coin keeps polling its price. Before, the price went stale after the first fetch.
- Settings survive a rollback even when a newer firmware had saved fields this one does not know, and saved settings that cannot be read at boot are no longer overwritten.
- Web panel fixes: a coin added while another change is queued is no longer removed; the page waits for a restart properly; wrong firmware files are named as such before upload; a refused save puts the controls back.
Settings carry over when updating from the panel.
Install
Easiest: in your browser. Plug the board into a computer with a USB-C data cable and open the valumi web installer in Chrome or Edge. Click Install valumi, pick the board's port, and wait about a minute.
Or by hand, with esptool and the valumi-1.3.bin below:
pip install esptool
esptool.py --chip esp32c6 write_flash 0x0 valumi-1.3.binUpdating
A ticker already running valumi updates from its own panel: Device → Firmware update, with the same valumi-1.3.bin. That keeps all settings. Installing over USB starts fresh.

valumi 1.2
A tiny crypto price ticker for the Waveshare 1.47" ESP32-C6 boards: live prices and charts from OKX, set up and controlled from your phone through the ticker's own web panel. One firmware for both boards, the plain ESP32-C6-LCD-1.47 and the ESP32-C6-Touch-LCD-1.47.
Install
Easiest: in your browser. Plug the board into a computer with a USB-C data cable and open the valumi web installer in Chrome or Edge. Click Install valumi, pick the board's port, and wait about a minute.
Or by hand, with esptool and the valumi-1.2.bin below:
pip install esptool
esptool.py --chip esp32c6 write_flash 0x0 valumi-1.2.binIf the board's port doesn't show up, try another cable (many carry power only), or hold BOOT while plugging it in.
Then
The ticker shows a QR code for its own Wi-Fi hotspot, VALUMI-XXXX. Join it with your phone, tap Sign in to network (or turn mobile data off and open http://4.3.2.1), and add your Wi-Fi. The ticker joins your network and shows its address and panel password; afterwards the panel is at http://valumi.local.
Updating
A ticker already running valumi updates from its own panel: Device → Firmware update, with the same valumi-1.2.bin. That keeps all settings. (Installing over USB starts fresh.)
New in 1.2
- More transitions: slide, cover, cascade or wipe, each sideways or up and down, chosen in the panel
- Buttery-smooth animation: page changes now run at 50-60 frames a second, up from 31-44

Settings carry over from 1.1 when updating from the panel.
Highlights
- Up to 15 coins, checked with the exchange as you add them; drag to reorder
- 1D / 7D / 30D charts: closing prices, a smooth line through each swing's highs and lows, or closes over a low-high band
- Slide, cover, cascade or wipe transitions with adjustable fade, 0-15 s per coin (0 scrolls continuously), brightness and night dimming
- Touch board: swipe between coins, hold a finger to pause, picture follows the board's orientation
- Several Wi-Fi networks in order of preference; setup hotspot with QR code; firmware updates with automatic rollback; settings backup and restore
