Tim's Markdown Reader 1.0

First public release.

Tim’s Markdown Reader is a small, free Markdown viewer for Mac. Open a .md file, read it, close it. No editor, no account, no tracking.

Needs an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 or later. Intel Macs aren't supported.

Install

Download the DMG below, open it, drag the app to Applications and eject the disk image. The app is Developer ID-signed and notarized by Apple.

To check your download, put the .sha256 file next to the DMG and run shasum -a 256 -c on it.

What's in it

• Markdown with tables, code blocks, task lists, footnotes and local images
• Mermaid diagrams, rendered offline
• Find that highlights every match, with a count
• Links between Markdown files, with back and forward
• Automatic reload when the file changes
• Light and dark mode, plus settings for font, text size and page width

Tested on macOS 27 and macOS 26. It's built for macOS 14 and later, but 14 and 15 haven't been tested yet, so reports are welcome.
