Parent access without admin rights

You can now give a second parent day-to-day control of TaskMate without making them a Home Assistant admin.

What's new

In Settings → Parents (no admin rights), tick any existing non-admin Home Assistant user. They can then, straight from the cards:

  • Approve or reject chore completions (including Approve All)
  • Approve or reject reward claims
  • Give or adjust points, gift points, and confirm allowance payouts
  • Award badges and apply/postpone/dismiss mandatory-chore outcomes
  • Complete a chore on a child's behalf, and undo completions/approvals

They still cannot open the admin panel or change any configuration — that stays admin-only — and every parent action is recorded in the audit log.

Why

Perfect for a partner who runs the daily routine but shouldn't hold full Home Assistant admin rights.

How to set it up

  1. Create a normal (non-admin) Home Assistant user for the parent, if they don't already have one.
  2. Open the TaskMate admin panel → SettingsParents (no admin rights) and tick that user.
  3. Save. They can now use the TaskMate cards on their own dashboard with full day-to-day parent controls.
