Syncher 0.3.0
Renamed from Obsyncher to Syncher (plugin id syncher): the Obsidian directory rejects plugin names that contain
parts of "Obsidian". The repository moved to github.com/tequrity/syncher.
Changed
- New name everywhere: plugin id and name, UI texts, the server metadata folder (
.syncher), the relay
(server/syncher-relay.py, servicesyncher-relay), the config file (syncher.config.json),dist/syncher. - SSH keys are no longer read from files on disk. The key is imported once in the settings
(Import key… — file picker or pasted text) and stored encrypted. The "Key file" setting and thekeysDir/keyFile
config entries are gone, so the plugin never reads files outside the vault. - The default device name no longer uses the computer's name (
Desktop-xxxx/Android-xxxxinstead); the plugin
reads no system identity information.
Added
- Automatic migration from Obsyncher: on its first start Syncher takes over the old plugin's settings, sync base,
sync_ignoreand config, keeps the device identity and the encrypted secrets (old master key id and HKDF label are
still accepted), disables the old plugin, and renames the server's.obsyncherfolder to.syncher.
install-relay.shremoves a relay installed under the old name. - Signed build provenance (GitHub artifact attestations) for the release assets.
Obsyncher 0.2.1
Prepared for the Obsidian community plugin directory: the code now passes the official
eslint-plugin-obsidianmd rule set (the one the directory's automated review is based on) with no errors or warnings.
Changed
- Requires Obsidian 1.8.7 or newer (
minAppVersion), because the plugin uses APIs introduced in 1.6.6 and 1.8.7. - The settings tab is described with Obsidian's declarative settings API: on Obsidian 1.13+ all Obsyncher
settings show up in the settings search; older versions draw the same rows the classic way. Looks and works as before. - Node.js APIs are loaded only in the desktop app, from one guarded place; nothing Node-specific runs on phones.
- Manifest description no longer contains characters the directory does not allow.
- README: new Disclosures section (network use, files outside the vault, no telemetry).
Fixed
- Timers use
windowtimers (work correctly in Obsidian pop-out windows). - Stricter typing of everything read from JSON (config file, server metadata, journal).
- Plugin unloading no longer returns a promise Obsidian does not wait for.
Obsyncher 0.2.0

Changed
- The user interface is English only (the Ukrainian translation was removed).
- All documentation rewritten in English; the README is now a step-by-step guide for every platform.

Added
- GitHub Actions workflow that builds the plugin and attaches
main.js,manifest.jsonandstyles.css
to a GitHub release when a version tag is pushed.
