Prompt Library

Copy any prompt into chat. The pattern is always the same: you say what you want → the agent proposes the exact transaction → you review the hash → you approve. Nothing moves until that last step.

"Market price" on the XRP Ledger means a limit order priced at the current best bid/ask. It usually fills immediately, but it can partially fill or rest on the book if the market moves — the agent will tell you what happened.

Reading the market

What's XRP trading at?

What's the price of XRP right now?

  • Agent runs quote on XRP/RLUSD and reports mid, bid, ask, and spread.

Show me the book

Show me the order book for ARMY/XRP, top 10 levels.

  • quote --pair ARMY/XRP --limit 10. Read-only, no approval needed.

Check my funds

Show my balances.

  • balance — XRP plus every trustline balance.

What can I trade?

What pairs do I have approved?

  • pairs lists your ~/.xrpl/approved.json.

Market orders

Sell at market

Sell 5 XRP at market price.

  • Agent checks the book, proposes sell --pair XRP/RLUSD --amount 5 priced at the current best bid. You review the hash, then approve.

Buy at market

Buy 10 XRP at market price.

  • Same in reverse — proposed at the current best ask.

Sell a token for XRP

Sell 0.01 BTC for XRP at market price.

  • Uses your approved BTC/XRP pair (BTC is the base, XRP the quote).

Limit orders

Bid under the market

Buy 5 XRP two cents under market price.

  • Agent reads the book and proposes a buy at (market − $0.02), e.g. 1.52 when XRP sits at 1.54. The offer rests on the book until filled or expired.

Offer above the market

Sell 5 XRP five cents above market price.

  • Proposes a sell at (market + $0.05).

Exact price

Buy 1000 ARMY at 0.005 XRP each.

  • buy --pair ARMY/XRP --amount 1000 --price 0.005 — no book lookup needed, but the signer's deviation check still guards against typos (rejects prices >10% from the book reference by default).

Short-lived order

Buy 5 XRP at 1.52, expire it after 10 minutes.

  • --expires-in 600. Every offer carries an expiry (default 1 hour, max 24h) — orders can't haunt the book forever.

Managing offers

Cancel

Cancel my offer #107197109.

  • cancel --seq 107197109 — proposed, you approve, it's gone.

Replace a bid

Replace my 1.47 XRP bid with 1.48.

  • Two proposals (cancel + new buy), two approvals. Deliberate by design — the skill never chains transactions silently.

Before you commit

Estimate the trade

Plan a buy of 1000 ARMY at 0.005 — what's the price impact and max spend?

  • plan-trade --pair ARMY/XRP --side buy --amount 1000 --price 0.005. Read-only: estimated fill, impact vs. mid, worst-case spend. Run this before any big order.

Pending proposals

Show my pending proposals.

  • xrpl-sign --list — every unapproved proposal, with hashes and ages. Proposals expire after 24h.

New tokens (safety-first)

Vet the issuer

Is FUZZY safe to trade? Check the issuer r... for me.

  • inspect-token --currency FUZZY --issuer r… reports domain, transfer fee, and freeze flags. Do this before touching any token you didn't vet — on XRPL the issuer is the asset's identity.

Add a trustline

Add a trustline for FUZZY from r... with a limit of 1000000.

  • trustline --currency FUZZY --issuer r… --limit 1000000. Required before you can hold or trade any IOU.

Payments

Send XRP

Send 10 XRP to r9e34ga9YxYHYoCe7UtWWpuLjp4iKs3gkB.

  • send --to r… --amount 10 --ccy XRP. Only to allowlisted destinations (set them in your policy) — otherwise blocked.

Send with a destination tag

Send 50 RLUSD to r… with destination tag 12345.

  • --destination-tag 12345. Sending to an exchange without its required tag is how funds get lost — the signer fails closed on tag-required destinations.

After the trade

What happened?

What happened to my transaction a2c72140?

  • reconcile --hash a2c72140 — fetches the validated ledger outcome. (tesSUCCESS at submission is provisional; validated is final.)

Audit trail

Show my signed transaction history.

  • Every signed transaction is appended to ~/.xrpl/audit.log (hash, result, network — never secrets).

Power combos

Ladder bids

Buy 15 XRP in three bids: 5 at 1.50, 5 at 1.48, and 5 at 1.46.

  • Three proposals, three hashes, three approvals. Scales down your average entry if the market dips — and each rung is still your explicit call.

Straddle the spread

Place a buy 2 cents under market and a sell 2 cents over market for 5 XRP each.

  • Two proposals. The classic market-maker shape, minus the bot: both orders need your approval.

Take-profit plan

Sell half my XRP balance 10% above the current market price.

  • Agent checks your balance, computes half, reads the book, proposes the sell at +10%. You approve the exact numbers.

Fund with fiat, then trade

I have no XRP. Help me buy $100 worth with my card, then we'll trade.

  • If you've installed the optional companion changelly_buy skill, it gives a spot estimate + prefilled buy link. You complete KYC/payment on Changelly; when the XRP lands, the trading ceremony takes over. (Card buy is link generation only — it never touches your seed.)

Prompting tips

  1. Name the pair, amount, and price (or say "market"). Ambiguity gets you a clarifying question, not a guess.
  2. "Market" = priced at the touch. If you want it to rest on the book, say "two cents under/over."
  3. Big order? Ask for plan-trade first.
  4. New token? inspect-token before trustline before buy.
  5. Every write ends at a hash. Read the ceremony output, check the numbers, then approve — that's the whole security model (see Security).
