Git Boy — first public preview
Git Boy's first public preview: a free, MIT-licensed Git client focused on human review of AI-generated changes.
Downloads
- Mac:
Git-Boy-macOS-0.3.0-arm64-preview.zip— native app, Apple silicon, macOS 14+. Ad-hoc signed; not Apple-notarized. macOS may block it. Git must be installed. - Windows:
Git-Boy-Windows-0.4.0-alpha.1-x64.exe— unsigned experimental x64 NSIS installer. Requires Git for Windows on PATH. This installer has been built, but a real Windows install/use/uninstall pass is still outstanding; see issue #1. SHA256SUMS.txtrecords SHA-256 checksums for both files.
Current scope
The native Mac app includes working/staged diffs, branch comparison, history, staging/commit/sync controls, text conflict editing, reading progress, AI prompt preview/copy, local review links, and a spotlight tutorial. Button labels are clickable and non-selectable; code remains selectable.
The Windows alpha supports repository status, working/staged diffs, committed comparison, history, reading progress, AI prompt preview/copy, and local protocol links. It does not yet include staging, commits, sync, conflict editing, or the Mac spotlight tour. The shared Electron interface was exercised on macOS; that does not replace Windows runtime QA.
Git Boy prepares AI prompts for you to explicitly copy into Codex or ChatGPT. It does not automatically upload code or call a model. Local review links require the checkout on the computer opening them.
Follow-up
- #1: Verify the Windows installer on Windows.
- #2: Developer ID signing, notarization, and trusted Mac downloads.

This is a preview, not a store release or a claim of full Tower feature parity.
