v.23: Auto-Shutdown & UX Improvements
This update brings major Quality of Life (QoL) improvements to make the Cheat Engine feel more like a native desktop application!
✨ New Features & Improvements:
- Auto-Shutdown Mechanism: Implemented a Beacon API signal that detects when you close the browser tab. The frontend now sends a final, invisible HTTP request to the backend, instructing the Python server to shut down gracefully. This ensures no background processes are left running after you close the app.
- Smart Input Selection (UX): Improved the user experience when editing cheat entries. Double-clicking a "Description" or "Value" in the Cheat Table now opens the modal with the text automatically highlighted (selected). You can now instantly overwrite values by simply typing, without having to manually backspace the old data.
🛠️ Important Notes for Linux Users:
If you are building the source code yourself on Modern Linux (Ubuntu 23.04+, Linux Mint, Debian 12+), please check the updated README.md. You must now use pipx instead of pip to install PyInstaller due to the new PEP 668 restrictions.
