Three free, independently usable components for common data-entry problems. Choose the download you need; each includes source, license and tests.

Need Fixed download Runtime
Preserve quoted multiline cells, empty cells and leading zeros in spreadsheet TSV Clipboard Table v0.1.1 JavaScript core; Node.js 22+ for the example
Keep debounced remote field checks current and handle immediate submission Remote field check v0.1.0 JavaScript core; optional React/RHF example
Separate malformed JSONL lines while preserving their bytes and original locations JSONL partition v0.1.0 Python standard library; optional Polars example

Start with the short runnable examples · Download checksums

This is a curated collection of existing components, not a shared installation package. The three linked examples were checked from fresh archive extractions on Node.js 24.19.0 and Python 3.12.14. See each guide for its test coverage, dependency versions and limits. The automatic Source code archives below contain the whole repository; use a component's ZIP link above for its standalone files.

The TSV parser does not read XLSX or HTML clipboard data. Remote availability checks must be validated again by the actual server operation. JSONL partition validates one object per physical line; the receiving table reader still controls schema and dtype compatibility. The JSONL guide distinguishes inferred Python 3.11 compatibility from execution on 3.12.14.

Free under the included MIT licenses; retain third-party notices with the bundled remote-check demo. If a component helps, feedback is welcome. The collection guide ends with a small, entirely optional coffee note.

Clipboard Table v0.1.0

@tevinch tevinch released this 09 Sep 05:37

Clipboard Table is a small, dependency-free JavaScript module for spreadsheet-style TSV text. It preserves quoted multiline cells, empty cells, whitespace, Unicode and leading zeroes, with configurable input limits and TypeScript declarations.

Try the free browser playground to paste CSV or tab-separated text and copy or download CSV, JSON or Markdown. Choose the input format, paste your table, then choose Parse. Values stay text, including identifiers such as 001.

For offline use, download the browser playground v0.4.0 ZIP, extract it and open index.html. The playground processes text locally. See the current guide for supported formats and limits.

Download the standalone clipboard-table-v0.1.0.zip for the standalone module, MIT license, examples and tests. The automatically generated “Source code” archives contain the entire Data Shape Kit repository.

After extracting the standalone archive:

cd clipboard-table-v0.1.0
node example.mjs
node --test test.mjs
import { parseClipboard, formatClipboard, toRecords } from "./index.mjs";
const rows = parseClipboard('name\tnote\r\nAda\t"first line\nsecond line"\r\n');
const records = toRecords(rows);

Usage and integration examples · Clipboard format pitfalls

The extracted archive passes all 31 parser, serializer and record-conversion tests. This works on plain text already provided by your application; it does not read the system clipboard, parse .xlsx/HTML, or restore formatting and values already lost during copying. It does not neutralize formulas for a spreadsheet. One final record newline is structural; additional empty records are preserved. Test your target spreadsheet's clipboard output before integrating it.

If this saved you a little time, you're welcome to buy me a coffee. Please don't feel obliged — the module is free to use under the MIT license.

Clipboard Table local playground v0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

A self-contained browser example for Clipboard Table: paste quoted TSV, preview the table, and export JSON while keeping every cell as text.

Download the local playground ZIP, extract it and open index.html in a modern browser. No installation, web server, uploads or external runtime assets are needed. The automatic “Source code” archives contain the whole repository.

  • Choose Load example or paste your own tab-separated text.
  • Keep the first row as JSON keys, or turn the option off for arrays of strings.
  • Preview up to 30 data rows and 8 columns; Download JSON includes the complete parsed result.
  • Quoted multiline cells, doubled quotes, empty columns and leading-zero strings are preserved in the received plain text.

Limits: 1,000,000 UTF-16 code units, 10,000 rows and 256 columns. This reads quoted TSV, not XLSX files or HTML tables. Editing the text box uses the browser's normalized line endings. The underlying module is unchanged and passes its 31 tests; the browser example was checked with synthetic paste cases.

Free under the MIT license. If it saves you a little time, feedback or a small synthetic case is appreciated. The optional coffee footer is included in the example; there is no obligation.
