@texivi texivi released this 19 Oct 19:44

Subverge 0.9.0, with the ordinal 1.0.0 kernel and the omega 1.0.0 shell.

  • colour themes: themes lists them and 'raw theme switches to the plain VGA colours. dusk (the old colours), raw, paper, amber and phosphor come with it, rgb changes a single colour, and an installed system remembers the theme
  • bright background colours work everywhere now, so the tab bar and coloured cells show their real colours instead of blinking
  • redo takes back a back
  • Tab completes names at the prompt, and pressing it again cycles through the matches
  • "text" apropos finds every word whose help mentions the text
  • new words: lower, trim, starts?, ends?, replace, join, reverse, sort, sum, fold, index, sqrt (big numbers too), gcd, pick, tuck, 2dup
  • cal, y m month and date
  • tiles, a sliding tile game
  • scrawl: Ctrl-G goes to a line, Ctrl-D duplicates one
  • learn has a lesson on themes

Boot it with qemu-system-x86_64 -cdrom subverge.iso -m 256M, and read the expectations before you run install on anything.

Subverge 0.8.0, with the ordinal 0.10.0 kernel and the omega 0.9.0 shell.

  • big numbers work in comparisons, conditions, str, >num, min/max and saved worlds
  • 0b binary literals
  • learn has 39 lessons: big numbers, dynamic scope, recursion, tracing, undo, time, keys, drawing, counting past infinity and editing a word
