Heatit WiFi 2.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@thanoskas thanoskas released this 07 Oct 13:10

Changed

  • The bundled brand images now include the hDPI versions (icon@2x.png, logo@2x.png), so the Heatit icon and logo stay sharp on high resolution screens. Home Assistant 2026.3 and newer serve these from the integration's own brand/ folder.

The HACS store itself still shows an "icon not available" placeholder. That is not something this integration can fix: HACS reads the Home Assistant brands CDN, which no longer accepts images for custom integrations now that they ship their own (hacs/integration#5171). Inside Home Assistant - Settings > Devices & services, the setup dialog and the device page - the icon shows correctly.

Upgrading

HACS: open Heatit WiFi -> Update, then restart Home Assistant. Manual: replace config/custom_components/heatit_wifi with the one from this release and restart.

@thanoskas thanoskas released this 07 Oct 12:56

Verified on a WiFi7 running firmware 0.1.13.

Fix

  • Display measured temperature did nothing on a WiFi7. Firmware 0.1.13 renamed the temperatureDisplay parameter to displayInformation and takes an integer; a write to the old name is answered with Success and then ignored, so the switch was stuck and every change was lost. The integration now reads and writes whichever name the thermostat reports, the same way the calibration numbers already did.
  • Relay state on a WiFi7: the thermostat reports its contact as close, not the Closed of the API spec, so the relay switch fell back to a secondary parameter and the climate entity could not tell heating from idle. Both spellings are accepted now.

New

  • The room becomes the area. The room a thermostat is linked to in the MyHeatit app is used as its Home Assistant area when the device is added. A device you have already placed yourself is never moved. Note that Home Assistant builds the entity IDs of a newly added device from its area, so a thermostat added after this update gets entity IDs that start with the room name; existing entity IDs are untouched.
  • Three diagnostic sensors: the Wi-Fi network (SSID) the thermostat is on, and the number of DirectLink and BlueFusion links with the linked devices in the attributes. Neither is in the WiFi6 API documentation. Disabled by default, like the other diagnostics.
  • Discovery suggests the name the thermostat itself carries (a WiFi7 nobody renamed in the app reports THERMOSTAT_<MAC>), and the discovery card now shows a bare IP address instead of a URL that was cut off.

HACS: open Heatit WiFi → Update, then restart Home Assistant. Manual: replace config/custom_components/heatit_wifi with the one from this release and restart.

Heatit WiFi 2.0.4

Fix

  • WiFi7 display brightness (Active display brightness and Standby display brightness): after dimming the display to 10 or less, the slider switched to the WiFi6's 1–10 scale and the brightness could no longer be raised above 10 from Home Assistant. The integration picked the scale from the current value; it now uses the model the thermostat reports, so a WiFi7 always gets the 0–100 slider. WiFi6 units keep their 1–10 scale. Reported in #3.

HACS: open Heatit WiFi → Update, then restart Home Assistant. Manual: replace config/custom_components/heatit_wifi with the one from this release and restart.

Heatit WiFi 2.0.3

@thanoskas thanoskas released this 19 Sep 11:32

Fix

  • Heatit icon and logo now show in Home Assistant under Settings → Devices & services, in the setup dialog and on the device page (HA 2026.3 or newer). The images were shipped in a brands/ folder, which Home Assistant does not read. They are now in brand/, the folder Home Assistant uses for custom integration icons.

The HACS store still shows the grey placeholder icon. HACS only loads icons from the central Home Assistant brands site, which no longer accepts custom integrations. Once HACS supports icons shipped inside the integration (hacs/integration#5171), the Heatit icon will appear there too.

Docs

  • The version history no longer lists the original heatit_wifi6 releases (0.9.3 – 1.2.x). They are credited to mattik-gh in the Credits section.

Upgrading

HACS: open Heatit WiFi → Update, then restart Home Assistant. Manual: replace config/custom_components/heatit_wifi with the one from this release and restart.

Heatit WiFi 2.0.2

@thanoskas thanoskas released this 19 Sep 10:47

Fix

  • Power regulator active time (PWER duty cycle) now uses the thermostat's real scale. The device stores this setting as 1–10 (×10 % of the 30-minute cycle, default 2 = 20 %), but earlier versions showed the raw value on a 10–100 % slider: the default appeared as "2 %", and changing it sent an out-of-range value to the device. The entity now shows 10–100 % in 10 % steps and converts on read and write. Entity ID and unit are unchanged.

If you changed this setting with 2.0.1 or earlier, set it again after updating.

What's new

  • Greek translation. When the Home Assistant profile language is Ελληνικά, the setup, options and reconfigure screens and every entity name and select option appear in Greek. Entity IDs do not change, so automations and dashboards are not affected.
  • The README now states that this is a third-party integration, not affiliated with Heatit.

CI

  • Dependabot keeps the GitHub Actions used by CI up to date (monthly, grouped into one PR).
  • A monthly scheduled run tests the integration against Home Assistant stable, beta and dev, so breaking HA changes show up before a release.

Upgrading

HACS: open Heatit WiFi → Update, then restart Home Assistant. Manual: replace config/custom_components/heatit_wifi with the one from this release and restart.

Heatit WiFi 2.0.0

@thanoskas thanoskas released this 10 Sep 08:38

First release of the Heatit WiFi integration, maintained by Smart Home Hellas. A local (LAN-only, no cloud) Home Assistant integration for the Heatit WiFi6 and WiFi7 thermostats, built on the original heatit_wifi6 community integration by mattik-gh.

Highlights

  • Integration renamed from heatit_wifi6 to heatit_wifi ("Heatit WiFi"). Users of the old community integration: see the Migrating section in the README.
  • WiFi7 support confirmed on real hardware (firmware 0.1.13), including Relay mode and the WiFi7-only parameters.
  • Automatic discovery via mDNS (WiFi7 and WiFi6 V2); WiFi6 V1 is added by IP. IP changes are picked up automatically or via Reconfigure.
  • Options flow: polling interval (10–3600 s) and host change without re-adding the device.
  • Full parameter coverage: floor/internal/external temperature limits, hysteresis, regulation mode, NTC sensor type, sensor calibration, display settings, child lock, open window detection, power regulator duty cycle, size of load, retry delay, energy meter reset, settings reset and opt-in factory reset.
  • Disconnected NTC sensors show as unavailable instead of 100 °C; entities that do not apply to the current mode show as unavailable instead of unknown.
  • Diagnostics download (redacted), 49 unit tests, CI with hassfest, HACS validation and pytest.

Installation

HACS → Custom repositories → https://github.com/thanoskas/heatit_wifi (category Integration), then download Heatit WiFi and restart. Manual: copy custom_components/heatit_wifi into config/custom_components/.
