Morphlet v1.4.0
Morphlet v1.4.0
Quick tools
- Tap Shift for conversion options, and Cmd on macOS or Ctrl on Windows for editing tools. Configure the selection keys in Studio Settings.
- Compact Liquid Glass tool popups offer crop, resize, quality, mirror, flip, frames, compression, and solid-color background removal.
- Combine selected images into a PDF or Word document, with a custom filename, carousel preview, and a drag-to-reorder popup. Each image becomes a page; Word exports retain images rather than extracting editable text.
- Open in Studio exposes image controls and the full PDF editor. PDF quick tools include merging, page rearrangement, text additions, and lossless structural optimization.
- GNOME Files supports separate Morphlet and Morphlet Tools actions. Global modifier-only gestures remain restricted on Wayland.
Interface and reliability
- Quick windows keep only the close control on macOS.
- The wheel center displays a file-type icon, or the Morphlet logo when empty.
- Mouse-wheel and touchpad scrolling select options throughout the popup. Press Enter to choose; disable scroll navigation in Studio Settings if preferred.
- Fix a macOS SIGTRAP caused by Electron's native file-icon lookup.
Updates
- Check for newer stable releases from Studio Settings, Help, or the tray.
- Installed builds check on startup and every six hours, with one notification per new release. Automatic checks can be disabled.
- Download installers on request, with progress and SHA-256 verification before opening them.
- macOS uses a DMG replacement flow without requiring Developer ID. Windows opens its setup installer; Linux opens the DEB installer or reveals an AppImage for manual replacement. Save your work before updating.
Downloads
macOS Apple Silicon and Intel DMG/ZIP, Windows x64 setup, and Linux x64 AppImage/DEB. Checksums accompany each installer. macOS builds use ad-hoc signing and are not notarized; first launch may require approval in Privacy & Security.
Morphlet v1.3.0
Morphlet v1.3.0
Select files, then tap one key
- On macOS, select files in Finder and press and release Cmd on its own.
- On Windows, select files in an active File Explorer window and press and release Ctrl on its own.
- Change the modifier or disable this gesture in Studio → Settings.
- Other key combinations and modifier-click selection are excluded from the gesture.
- Fix installed Windows selection/drag helper packaging by shipping the PowerShell script outside app.asar.
- Keep Option/Alt-drag as a separate drag gesture.
GNOME Files integration
In the installed Linux app, open Studio Settings and choose Install GNOME Files action. Select files in Nautilus, right-click, then Scripts → Morphlet to open the selected local files directly in the wheel. Requires Python 3. GNOME Wayland restricts global modifier-only capture, so Ctrl-only is not promised there; use the Files action or Studio drag/drop.
Validation and distribution
51 automated tests pass locally, and the implementation passes macOS Apple Silicon, macOS Intel, Windows x64 and Linux x64 package builds. Windows CI checks the installed helper; trusted macOS builds verify app signatures and DMG contents. Interactive desktop gesture testing is still needed across system configurations.
macOS packages remain ad-hoc signed without Apple notarization. Windows installers remain unsigned.
Morphlet v1.2.3
Morphlet v1.2.3
Studio stability on macOS
- Prevent a native appearance notification from recursively rebuilding the Studio glass regions.
- Skip native material updates when the theme and layout have not changed.
- Keep file selections and previews stable when updating the glass surface; material-only updates no longer resend the complete Studio state.
- Avoid assigning an unchanged native window appearance.
- Add regression tests for repeated appearance notifications, theme switching and sidebar changes.
Includes the v1.2.2 macOS signature correction and strict app/DMG verification. Mac packages remain ad-hoc signed and unnotarized; Windows packages remain unsigned.
Morphlet v1.2.2
Morphlet v1.2.2
macOS packaging fix
- Fix incomplete app-bundle signatures that could cause macOS to report Morphlet as damaged or corrupted even when the DMG checksum was valid.
- Explicitly ad-hoc sign the app and nested code, with the Electron entitlements required for this signing mode.
- Verify the packaged app with strict, recursive code-signature validation before uploading artifacts.
- Verify each DMG checksum, mount it read-only, and verify the app inside before publication.
Downloads
Includes Apple Silicon and Intel macOS DMG/ZIP packages, a Windows x64 installer, and Linux x64 AppImage/DEB packages. SHA-256 checksum files accompany the downloads.
Ad-hoc signing provides bundle integrity, not an Apple Developer ID. macOS builds remain unnotarized and may still be blocked by Gatekeeper. Windows installers remain unsigned. This release does not change Windows or Linux application behavior.
Morphlet v1.2.1
Morphlet v1.2.1
Restore solid monochrome backgrounds for the Studio document preview and conversion controls. The collapsible sidebar retains its glass effect. Dark/light native layout checks passed with no panel gaps or overflow.
Morphlet v1.2.0
Morphlet v1.2.0
- Add Developed by Mayank Jha to the expanded Studio sidebar.
- Add an accessible sidebar toggle beside the wordmark. Collapse to an icon rail while retaining All files and Results navigation.
- Remember the sidebar preference and preserve it across conversion and PDF editing.
- Give the sidebar a dedicated macOS native glass region, with monochrome translucent/blur surfaces and a readable fallback on other platforms.
Validation: 43 automated tests passed. Native desktop checks verified credit visibility, collapse/expand, accessible state, preference restoration after reload, PDF workspace behavior and both themes.
Morphlet v1.1.0
Morphlet v1.1.0
- Add native File, Edit, View, Window and Help menus for Studio, with a Morphlet application menu on macOS and visible window menus on Windows/Linux.
- Connect file, conversion, PDF save/search, history, theme, zoom and help actions to the existing Studio controls and standard shortcuts. Inapplicable commands are disabled.
- Show the Morphlet Dock icon while Studio is open on macOS and explicitly retain taskbar presence on Windows/Linux.
- Retain the tray/menu-bar icon throughout the app session, use a macOS template icon after resizing, and support tray double-click to open Studio.
- Set Morphlet application/About branding and the Windows app model identity.
Validation: 43 automated tests passed, including menu templates for all three platforms. Native macOS checks exercised menu actions, command availability, PDF saving, themes, Dock visibility, hiding and reopening Studio. Windows/Linux interactive menu and tray behavior still needs device testing; Linux requires desktop tray support.
Morphlet v1.0.1
Morphlet v1.0.1
- Apply the joined, edge-to-edge layout to Studio conversion and results views.
- Remove transparent gutters between panels and the unused bottom footer strip.
- Keep conversion status visible in the sidebar.
- Constrain tall previews to the available workspace so panels and controls stay inside the window.
Native checks passed in dark and light themes: zero sidebar/inspector/header/bottom gaps, no panel overflow, and visible status. The integrated PDF editing and return-to-conversion checks also passed.
Morphlet v1.0.0
Morphlet v1.0.0
Morphlet brings local conversion, a quick conversion wheel, AI-ready PDF bundles and an integrated Studio PDF editor to macOS, Windows and Linux.
Workspace polish
- Removed the transparent gutter between the Studio sidebar and PDF editor.
- Removed the unused footer strip beneath the editing workspace.
- Joined the editing panels to the window edges while keeping the file sidebar available.
- Kept properties controls within their panel and tightened toolbar spacing.
- Added Fit width alongside Fit page and percentage zoom.
- Added matching icons to the Studio file/results navigation.
Included workflows
Convert images and documents, crop and resize images, export structured Markdown and AI-ready PDF bundles, edit supported original PDF text, remove or replace supported embedded images, annotate, fill standard forms and organize pages. Files are processed locally and originals are preserved.
PDF content editing remains conservative: scanned or complex text, nested/clipped/rotated image content and full paragraph reflow may be unsupported. Content removal is not secure redaction. Packages remain unsigned; macOS packages are not notarized. Desktop gesture support varies by platform and file manager.
Validation
40 automated tests passed. Native desktop checks verified continuous scrolling, original text editing, both themes, saving and returning to conversion. Layout measurements confirmed zero sidebar/header/bottom gaps and no properties-panel button overflow.
Morphlet v0.9.0
Morphlet v0.9.0
- PDF editing now lives inside Studio, sharing the header and file sidebar instead of opening a modal workspace.
- Scroll continuously through PDF pages; the page list also scrolls. The page nearest the center becomes editable when scrolling settles.
- Nearby page previews load on demand with at most two preview requests in flight. Offscreen previews are released, and draft additions remain visible on nearby pages.
- Monochrome SVG icons accompany editing, annotation, image and page tools.
- The Studio header uses the Morphlet wordmark without the m badge.
- Light mode has a translucent white header backing and darker labels for contrast over busy backgrounds.
Validation: 40 automated engine tests passed. Native desktop checks cover continuous scrolling to another page, text editing, both themes, save and return to conversion, plus image replacement and reopening the editor.
