Releases: theRealRobG/SCTE35Parser
Release list
0.4.0
Summary
Some applications experienced crashes due to badly formatted SCTE35 messages and this library not being defensive against them. In some cases, messages would end unexpectedly while we were still reading bits, and the precondition would fail and cause an application crash. Now, all methods that read bits are throwing, and such a situation will throw an error from the parser rather than cause a crash. There is no integration change needed because all SpliceInfoSection constructors were already throwing so this is purely an internal improvement towards resiliency. Performance metrics (clock time taken to parse 33 SCTE35 messages, which were found in a 10 hour live window for one of the streaming providers) were validated using XCTestCase.measure and showed no degradation.
What's Changed
- Added basic clock measurement by @theRealRobG in #9
- Added defensiveness running out of bits during parse by @theRealRobG in #8

0.3.1
Add MIT licence.
Some organisations require 3rd party projects to include a licence in order to be used and so I've added a permissive MIT licence to the project.
PR here: #7
0.3.0
This release introduces support for Carthage on platforms iOS, macOS, and tvOS.
PR details: #6
0.2.2
This is an important fix for a bug where there were (in some cases) arithmetic overflows that would lead to crashes.
Description in PR: #5
0.2.1
Quick hot-fix as project was not building on macOS GitHub Action (Xcode 12.4).
PR with changes: #4
0.2.0
Initial Release
This release comes with the majority of the SpliceInfoSection implemented; however, does not include encrypted message parsing, and some pathways are untested.
