Axionyx v1.2.1 — Release Notes

Mobile App

New Features

  • Configurable PCR Programs — Temperature stages (denaturation, annealing, extension) are now fully configurable from the app. No more hardcoded values in firmware.
  • PCR Program Profiles — Create, save, edit, and delete named PCR programs locally on the device. Profiles persist between sessions.
  • Standard PCR & Fast PCR modes — Choose between a classic 3-step cycle (Denaturation → Annealing → Extension) or a faster 2-step cycle (Denaturation → Anneal+Extend). A contextual
description explains each mode when selected.
  • Firmware Templates — Browse ready-to-use PCR presets served directly from the device (Standard, Fast, High Specificity, Sensitive Detection, Long Amplicon).
  • Contextual Tips — Tap the info icon on any PCR phase field to expand a biological explanation of that parameter, aimed at both experienced and general users.

Improved Behavior

  • Offline UI — PCR and Incubator device screens now show the full UI immediately. A slim banner at the top indicates connecting or offline status. Controls show a "Device is not
connected" snackbar when tapped while offline.
  • Smarter start flow — The program/protocol selector dialog always opens when pressing Start. The device reachability check only happens after a program is selected, so users never
    lose their configuration work.
  • Dark mode only — Removed light and system theme options. The app is now permanently dark.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed overflow in PCR program editor action bar buttons ("OVERFLOWED BY" rendering).
  • Fixed overflow in saved profile cards — badges now wrap instead of overflowing.
  • Fixed play button and three-dot menu order in saved profile cards.
  • Updated version label in Settings screen.

Firmware

  • Bumped firmware version to 1.2.1.
  • PCR program parameters (temperatures, times, cycle count, mode) are now accepted from the app via REST API — no defaults are forced server-side.
  • Added validation: temperatures outside 37–110°C are rejected; warnings returned for values outside ideal biological ranges.
  • Fixed default program temperatures to correct biological values (denaturation 95°C, extension 72°C, annealing 55°C).
