πŸš€ Atari System Emulator - Release Notes for v1.10

Welcome to a new version of ASE! This release comes packed with major visual enhancements, extensive MIDI sound features, and bug fixing.

🌟 What's New

🎨 Modernized User Interface

ASE has received a complete makeover! It now features a much more modern, polished, and appealing look. We hope you love the new visual experience!

πŸ–₯️ Monochrome Display Emulation

Added by popular demand: Monochrome monitor emulation is now supported!
Thank you for your continuous feedbackβ€”please keep it coming so I could continue improving the emulator.

🎹 MIDI Support & Sound Overhaul

Audio takes a massive leap forward in this update:

  • Dual MIDI Support:

    • Passthrough / MIDI Bridge Mode: ASE acts as a direct bridge between the Atari ST and your host operating system's MIDI devices.
    • Integrated Roland MT-32/CM-32L Emulator (Munt): The easiest plug-and-play solution. Experience the rich MIDI capabilities of the Atari ST without the need for complex setups or external hardware.

Relive Sierra classics with native Roland MT-32 support like the Leisure Suit Larry and Space Quest series with spectacular audio!

  • ✨ Yamaha YM2149 to Roland MT-32 Channel Remapping: The feature I've been crafting for a while and am most excited to share: ASE can now replace any sound channel from the Yamaha 2149 with an instrument from the Roland MT-32.

Hear your favorite ST games like you've never heard them before!

    • πŸ“– Check out the ASE Wiki for detailed documentation and setup instructions.
    • πŸŽ₯ Check out my YouTube video, where I go into more detail about the most important features of this version, and you’ll be able to see examples of how the channel remapper works -> https://youtu.be/CAV1XxJ_keY

πŸ› οΈ Bug Fixes & Compatibility Improvements

  • Disk Swap Detection: Improved the disk change detection mechanism, resolving issues where certain multi-disk games failed to proceed during a disk swap.

Note: Since various commercial titles rely on custom or aggressive copy-protection routines to detect disk changes, a few titles might still encounter detection issues.

  • Fixed several minor bugs and under-the-hood glitches for improved overall stability.

πŸ’¬ Acknowledgments
