What's changed

This release brings the template fully up to org standards as of 2026.

Features

  • Adopted holocron.config.json for CLI-managed setup (branch protection, labels, CI workflows, Dependabot)
  • Strict branch protection ruleset via holocron setup
  • AGENTS.md + CLAUDE.md symlink for agent operating context
  • CI thin callers synced from theholocron/holocron via sync-github

Fixes

  • Replaced actions/labeler glob format in labeler.yml with the github/issue-labeler regex format — fixes TypeError: r.match is not a function in bookkeeping workflow
  • Updated .editorconfig to org standard

CI

  • All workflow thin callers regenerated from latest holocron templates
  • Removed stale hand-written workflows superseded by generated thin callers

The goal of this initial setup is to create an extendable template. It is not the goal to create a template that contains
everything, but files specific to all templates created from it.

Files included (with reasoning):

  1. README (requires edits) - the bare bones required to get up and
    running
  2. LICENSE - GPL license for open source
  3. .alexignore - for verifying inclusive grammar for all writing
  4. .editorconfig - puts the spaces/tabs to bed
  5. .gitattributes - sets end-of-line settings on all git-tracked files
  6. .gitignore - ignore all of the unnecessary files on the system
  7. .github/ - create the basic workflow actions to be used, including greetings for first-time contributors, add labels to PRs, runs security checks, and sets stale PRs
