Hi, Thanks for making OpenQ4... although I haven't been able to get it running yet 🙂 Before I go too far down the rabbit hole, I'd like to check my data files. The instructions say to get Quake 4 from Steam or GOG, however I'm not sure whether that's a requirement or whether it's just convenient. I have the original Mac retail DVD version plus the final official patch and I'm wondering whether the files are the same or not. I'm not sure how to calculate the checksums listed on https://github.com/themuffinator/openQ4/blob/main/docs/dev/official-pk4-checksums.md, but SHA-1 is easy enough. Can someone please cross-check these with their Steam/GOG version and see whether they're the same? Thanks 🙂 |

I've managed to answer this myself. I figured out why it wasn't running (the build process had missed a couple of files) and it's now booting up and showing the checksums in the console. They all match. So, yes, the Mac retail files are the same as the Windows version. |
