Just some thoughts...
- I'm happy with 1206 resistors and capacitors so I've mostly used that footprint but there are 3 electrolytic capacitors where I've used radial 5mm dia with 2mm pitch which is adding to the board size. One is a 330uF (based on an Andreas Speiss video) across Vcc and Gnd of the ESP. Not sure if it needs to be quite such a high value but if it does, I don't know if it's possible to get a surface mount equivalent.
