Supported Boards
Ten board configurations run esp32flight. The Waveshare 800x480 family and the Guition share a single auto-detecting binary; everything else has a dedicated build.

The browser flasher has one button per board and picks the right files for you. The -ota.bin files are for updating an already-running device from its web panel; see Updating.
ESP32-S3 N16R8 (16 MB flash, 8 MB PSRAM), 800x480 RGB LCD (ST7262), GT911 capacitive touch. Powered over USB-C.
- All 1329 airline logos, all country flags, airports and runways are bundled in flash.
- Recommended printable case: Waveshare 7inch display case on Printables.
- The panel has no PWM backlight control; brightness is effectively on/off (night mode dims the UI colors instead).
The same electronics and pinout as the 7" board in a smaller panel. Most units ship with an 8 MB flash module (WROOM-1 N8R8), so they take the -8mb build: it bundles the ~330 most common airline logos and fetches the rest on demand from the esp32flight-logos repo.
If your 4.3 unit happens to have 16 MB flash (check with esptool.py flash_id), the standard build works too and bundles everything.
A 5" 800x480 board of the same ESP32-S3 class with GT911 touch, usually the cheapest way to run esp32flight. Support came from a community-contributed pinout. Detected automatically at boot by the same binary family, but flash the -guition file: the touch controller orientation differs from the Waveshare boards.
The higher-resolution 7" variant: 1024x600 (ST7262 panel, GT911 touch) with a CH32V003 helper microcontroller that gives it something the rest of the family lacks, true PWM backlight brightness.
- Needs its own build (
-7bfiles); the 800x480 binary shows a scrambled picture on it. - At 60% more pixels the UI is somewhat less smooth than on 800x480 boards; rendering optimizations are planned.
The boxed 7": the classic 800x480 panel family in an enclosure with a battery, speakers, microphones (ES8389 codec) and isolated IO on a terminal block. 32 MB flash on board; the firmware uses the standard 16 MB layout for now, and the audio hardware is not used by the radar yet.
The Guition's low-res sibling: 4.3" 480x272, same pins. The capacitive "C" and resistive "R" (XPT2046 over the SD-card SPI bus) variants each have their own build; "N"/no-touch units are not supported. The UI renders its 800x480 design proportionally downscaled. Community-contributed.
The 7" Sunton and the unbranded AliExpress/Amazon boards built on the same design. Colors (R/B bus halves) and the display window were bench-tuned by a community owner - the shipping pin map is hardware-confirmed.
Elecrow's HMI panels and, in the 7.0's case, most of the unbranded 7" Amazon boards (they are rebrands - the module marking N4R8 gives them away). The N4R8 module means the 4 MB flash class: a single app slot, no OTA (update via the browser flasher, settings survive), and a logo-less asset set with logos fetched on demand.
Unbranded 7" board and not sure if it is a Sunton clone or a CrowPanel rebrand? Read the metal ESP32 module: N16R8 = Sunton build, N4R8 = CrowPanel 7.0 build. A wrong pick costs nothing - the screen stays black, flash the other file.
BTT's Bambu-printer pendant is a regular ESP32-S3 smart display underneath (5" 800x480, GT911, battery), with the pin map published in BTT's own SDK. Flashing esp32flight replaces the stock Bambu-remote firmware - back it up first (esptool.py --chip esp32s3 read_flash 0 0x1000000 backup.bin restores it later). Like the 7B, the panel needs the memory buses at 120 MHz; the shipped build carries that.
A very different animal: ESP32-P4 (not S3), 5" 1280x720 IPS panel, battery-powered portable form factor.
- Needs the
-tab5build; this is a different chip family, so it is flashed with--chip esp32p4and the bootloader sits at0x2000(the browser flasher handles this for you). - Wi-Fi is provided by an on-board C6 co-processor.
- Three display generations exist in the wild (ILI9881C + GT911, ST7123, ST7121); the firmware detects yours at boot.
Boards not listed here will not work out of the box: RGB panel timings, touch controllers and helper chips differ. If you want to try porting, main/waveshare_rgb_lcd_port.c contains all board definitions and the issues are a good place to ask. Community pinouts have been merged before.
