@thewraith420 thewraith420 released this 02 Oct 17:15

Default/laptop variant, Linux 7.2.8, kernelrelease 7.2.8-BobZKernel. Built with
-march=native on Intel Raptor Lake (Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 12th-14th gen target).

What's in it

  • BORE scheduler (vanilla-compatible variant)
  • RSEQ slice extension + abort latency histogram (9003)
  • Full LTO, RANDSTRUCT
  • BBRv3 TCP congestion control
  • 9100: lets TLP write custom directly to /sys/firmware/acpi/platform_profile
  • 9101 (new since v7.2.2): ideapad-laptop no longer errors when the EC reports
Rapid Charge + Conservation Mode together - that combination is a real,
intentional state on this hardware, not a fault, and the old error path
returned bare I/O errors on every charge_types read (roughly every 5s)

Verified

Built, installed, and running on the actual target hardware (Lenovo LOQ) at the
time of this release: NVIDIA (615.71.09), LenovoLegionLinux, and hid-xpadneo
DKMS modules all show installed for 7.2.8-BobZKernel with no missing-module
warnings, and platform_profile reads back custom confirming 9100 still
works end to end. All 6 of this branch's patches re-apply clean against v7.2.8
with zero conflicts, zero fuzz.

Install

tar -xzf BobZKernel-7.2.8-installer.tar.gz
cd <extracted dir>
sudo ./install.sh

See the compatibility table
in the README before installing on a CPU other than 12th-14th gen Intel.
