GEDCOM 7 and the file header.

• GEDCOM 7: files with GEDC VERS 7.0 are read (@VOID@, PHRASE, SNOTE). Rule 624 reports what is not valid in GEDCOM 7, e.g. CONC, CHAR in the header, FORM jpg instead of a media type, values outside the enumerations, tags that only exist in 5.5.1.
• Check as: next to the presets you can choose whether a file is checked by the version in its header or as 5.5.1 or 7.0. This shows whether a 5.5.1 file would pass as GEDCOM 7.
• Header (620-623): required entries (SOUR, SUBM, GEDC, FORM, CHAR), FILE against the actual file name, the GEDCOM-L addendum entry as recommended, the date in the header.
• 625: text after an event tag (1 EMIG With the ...), only Y is allowed there.

77 rules in total. Packages for Windows, Linux and macOS are attached by GitHub a few minutes after publishing. The Windows installer is not signed: at the “unknown publisher” warning choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

GEDCOM-L and copying.

• GEDCOM-L addendum: godparents and witnesses without a record of their own (_GODP, _WITN) appear under the baptism or marriage in the person card; GOV identifier, postal code and Maidenhead locator of a place and the address are shown under the event; the family status (_STAT) is an event of the family. Pointers to location records (3 _LOC at a place, 1 _LOC in a location record) whose target is missing are reported like any other broken pointer. The file structure window marks GEDCOM-L tags as such instead of as vendor tags and names the addendum version from the header.
• Copying (since 0.4, first release in this repository): Ctrl+C copies the person of the selected finding as text with its identifier; right-click on a finding or an event offers Copy person text and Copy row; the values in the person card can be selected with the mouse.
