irFFB2026 — Release Notes
!!All of the SimHub files in v1.0.3 have not changed. Only irFFB2026 executable has been updated.
What's New
This release focuses on stability, reliability, and a smarter AutoTune. If you've experienced
the wheel feeling weaker than expected after getting in the car, or AutoTune not quite finding
the right level — this update addresses both.
The Wheel Feels Right From the Moment You Get In
The most reported issue — forces occasionally feeling weaker than expected right after getting
in the car or after a USB hiccup — has been resolved. Several small timing issues in the
way irFFB2026 hands off control to your wheel have been corrected. The result is that the
wheel should feel consistent and correct from the very first corner of every session.
AutoTune Now Works in Both Directions
Previously, AutoTune would only increase Max Force to prevent clipping. This meant that if
you hit a wall and the force spiked, AutoTune would raise Max Force to handle the spike —
but it would never come back down, leaving your forces weaker than optimal for the rest of
the session.
AutoTune now recovers automatically:
- Finds the optimal level during the first few laps as before
- Recovers after incidents — if a wall hit causes a temporary spike and raise, AutoTune
recognizes the incident is over and restores Max Force to the pre-incident level once
you're driving cleanly again - Adapts to tire degradation — over a long fuel run, as tires lose grip and forces
naturally weaken, AutoTune gradually lowers Max Force to keep the wheel feeling strong
and communicative through the entire stint
Settings Save Reliably
A bug that caused settings to occasionally not load correctly for a specific car and track
has been fixed. Your per-car, per-track settings will now load consistently every session.
Under the Hood
For the technically curious — a significant amount of work went into thread safety,
correct memory ordering, and latency in the force output path. None of this changes
how the wheel feels during normal driving, but it makes the application more robust
across different operating systems, hardware configurations, and session types.
Upgrade Notes
Your existing settings file works without any changes. AutoTune re-learns the optimal
Max Force at the start of each session — this is intentional, as conditions vary between
sessions.
