Novash v1.0.0 — Initial Release

Novash is a minimal Unix-like interactive shell written in C. This initial release implements a robust parser, job and process group control, common builtins, redirections, persistent history, and GNU Readline integration.

Highlights

  • AST-based parsing with pipelines, redirections and background jobs
  • fork/exec execution with job control (fg/bg/jobs) and signal handling (SIGINT, SIGCHLD)
  • Persistent history (.nsh_history) and Readline-based line editing
  • CMake build, run.sh helper, and unit tests using Criterion

Quick install

  1. git clone https://github.com/thomas-gons/Novash.git && cd Novash
  2. chmod u+x run.sh && ./run.sh
