PicturesQ v1.0.8

@thomasquinlan thomasquinlan released this 04 Aug 09:23

PicturesQ v1.0.8

Cross-platform image viewer and manager with an embedded MCP server.

Update notifications and one-click activation

  • PicturesQ now tells you when a new version is available, as a dismissable notice in the toolbar. The check runs once a day, sends nothing about you or your images, and never downloads or installs anything on its own — updating stays your choice.
  • Bought a license? The purchase confirmation page now has an Activate in PicturesQ button that hands your key straight to the app, so there's no copying it across by hand. Pasting a key works exactly as before.
  • On Windows and Linux, launching PicturesQ a second time now brings the existing window forward instead of starting a separate copy.

Downloads

  • macOS (Universal — Apple Silicon & Intel): PicturesQ_1.0.8_universal.dmg
  • Linux: .deb, .rpm, .AppImage
  • Windows: .msi, .exe

1.0.7 was withdrawn before general release: it failed to launch. 1.0.8 is that release with the fix.

@thomasquinlan thomasquinlan released this 06 Jul 09:39

PicturesQ v1.0.6

Cross-platform image viewer and manager with an embedded MCP server.

Stability release

  • Fixed a crash when browsing folders containing certain problematic image files — a single bad file could take down the whole app. It now simply fails to thumbnail and everything else keeps working.
  • Images with corrupt or absurd header dimensions are rejected safely instead of being decoded blindly.
  • Diagnostics: unexpected errors are now logged to the app's log folder to make future issues easier to report.

Downloads

  • macOS (Universal — Apple Silicon & Intel): PicturesQ_1.0.6_universal.dmg
  • Linux: .deb, .rpm, .AppImage
  • Windows: .msi, .exe

  • Friendlier licensing error messages (no internal details).
  • Includes v1.0.3's MCP premium licensing and all v1.0.2 fixes.

@thomasquinlan thomasquinlan released this 05 Jul 13:19

PicturesQ v1.0.3

Cross-platform image viewer and manager with an embedded MCP server.

Changes in this release

  • MCP server: premium tools (tags, ratings, duplicate finder, AI classification) now require a PicturesQ Premium license, matching the in-app paywall. Core tools — search, metadata, navigation, folder stats — remain free.
  • Includes all v1.0.2 fixes: toolbar scroll arrows on resize, Upgrade button placement, working "Get a License" button, Hide Files while filtered.

Downloads

  • macOS (Universal — Apple Silicon & Intel): PicturesQ_1.0.3_universal.dmg
  • Linux: .deb, .rpm, .AppImage
  • Windows: .msi, .exe

PicturesQ v1.0.2

Cross-platform image viewer and manager with an embedded MCP server.

Fixes in this release

  • Toolbar scroll arrows now update correctly when the window is resized.
  • The Upgrade button sits apart from the window controls.
  • "Get a License" now opens picturesq.fyi in your browser.
  • "Hide Files" works while a search filter is active (the filter is kept).

New: the macOS build is now a single Universal app — one download for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. (PicturesQ_1.0.2_aarch64.dmg and PicturesQ_1.0.2_x64.dmg are identical copies of the universal dmg, kept for older download links.)

Downloads

  • macOS (Universal — Apple Silicon & Intel): PicturesQ_1.0.2_universal.dmg
  • Linux: .deb, .rpm, .AppImage
