Doppel 2.0.1
Doppel 2.0.1
- Fixes ChatGPT updates that left Personal and Veridue stuck on the old build. ChatGPT 26.1016 changed how it reports its OAuth callback, and Doppel could not patch it.
- Doppel now tests a new ChatGPT build against its patcher before closing or replacing anything. If the build is not compatible yet, the update stops with a clear message and your current apps keep working.
- After updating Doppel, run the ChatGPT update again from the Doppel menu if you are still on 26.1013.
Doppel 2.0.0
Doppel 2.0.0
- Set up iPhone Codex access from each profile's new Remote Access window. Keep Personal and Work as separate phone connections with independently signed-in accounts and managed runtimes.
- Choose your existing LAN or private network, including Meshnet. Doppel supplies the connection details and an iPhone-compatible PEM key without enabling macOS Remote Login.
- Confirm the live remote account and workspace before enabling access. Replace a phone key, update one remote runtime, or switch accounts while access is disabled. Disabling access revokes the phone key before closing open sessions; you can enable it again without signing in again.
- Choose Receive Beta Updates in the Doppel menu to switch update channels. Your selection persists after updating; switching off waits for a newer stable release.
- Cloned apps now launch on their pinned Dock icon, and automatic startup repair preserves the app directory. Rebuild each existing instance once after updating Doppel to install the updated launcher.
Remote tasks use the Mac user's filesystem permissions. The Mac must remain awake and logged in. Desktop history, Browser, Computer Use and cloud synchronization are outside this release.
Doppel 2.0.0-beta-5
Doppel 2.0.0-beta-5
- Fixes clone rebuilds on ChatGPT 26.1013. That build changed how it hands deep links to the app, so Doppel could not patch the OAuth callback routing and every instance failed to start with "Patching the instance OAuth callback routing failed".
Includes PR #56.
This remains a beta. Remote Access requires the Mac to stay awake and logged in. Menu-click and physical-keypad reconnection QA remain incomplete, and macOS 14 execution, logout/login recovery, and network-loss recovery still need broader testing.

- Failed actions now show short messages instead of command-output dumps. For example, a disk-full extraction error tells you to free space and retry. Full CLI diagnostics are saved locally with owner-only permissions.
- Assign Creator Micro to a managed instance from Doppel’s menu. Assignment changes automatically restart affected running instances; selecting the current owner leaves it alone. Save unfinished drafts before changing the assignment. Official ChatGPT also uses the keypad while it runs.
- Release Assignment can clear an old assignment after its instance was removed.

- Disabling Remote Access now revokes the phone key before it closes open sessions, so a phone that connects at that moment can't slip in and keep running.
- You can switch a disabled profile to a different ChatGPT account, and Enable works again after Disable without signing in a second time. Doppel still checks that the live account matches the one you confirm before turning access on.
- Replace Key and Update Runtime now appear while a profile is disabled, which is when they can run.
- The menu notices engine changes made from the
doppelcommand line within a few minutes. Running a profile on official ChatGPT now lives under each instance's Fallback Engine submenu, since clones are the normal engine. - Beta builds point at the beta update feed by default, so a beta install keeps receiving later betas.
This is a beta. Remote Access limits from beta-2 still apply: the Mac must stay awake and logged in, and macOS 14 execution, logout/login recovery and network-loss recovery still need broader testing.
Doppel 1.1.13
Doppel 1.1.13
- The menu now notices engine changes made from the
doppelcommand line within a few minutes, instead of showing an instance on official ChatGPT until you click Refresh. - Running a profile on official ChatGPT is now under each instance's Fallback Engine submenu. Clones are the normal engine, so the menu no longer leads with it. A profile actually on the fallback still shows that at the top, with Switch Back to Doppel Engine.

Remote tasks use the Mac user's filesystem permissions. The Mac must remain awake and logged in. Desktop history, Browser, Computer Use and cloud synchronization are outside this release.
This is a beta. Two-account iPhone task routing, cold recovery and reconnect coexistence were tested on the current Mac and iPhone. macOS 14 execution, logout/login recovery and network-loss recovery still need broader testing.

Doppel 1.1.12
- Choose Receive Beta Updates in the Doppel menu to switch to the beta update feed and check for an update immediately. The choice persists across app updates. Turn it off to wait for a newer stable release; it does not downgrade an installed beta.
- Includes the latest merged clone-engine, Creator Micro and permission-probe fixes.
Doppel 1.1.11
Doppel 1.1.11
- macOS no longer shows "You can't open the application ….app.rollback because it may be damaged or incomplete". Doppel now hides the backup it keeps from each rebuild as a plain folder, so macOS no longer treats it as a broken app. Existing backups are converted the next time Doppel repairs them (
native-tools repair). - An error dialog left open after a failed rebuild no longer blocks Doppel. Before, every later launch or rebuild failed with "another Doppel engine operation is already in progress" until the dialog was closed. Each instance picks up the fix on its next rebuild.
native-tools statusnow shows whether the in-app browser works inside each running instance. Current ChatGPT builds allow it in instances. If a future build blocks it again, the status says so, and you can give that profile the built-in browser instead.- Installing ChatGPT updates no longer stalls on a suspended permission check, and instances build again from ChatGPT build 12404.
