unfortunately, I could not find any detailed info or examples in documentation and I only have a Solarbank2 pro running in my HA:

Is it possible to control the charging go the Solarbank3 via HA like the discharge in the Solarbank2 via entity:

Or is that only possible via installed Smartmeter connected in the Anker App?

If the device does not support it, how should the integration?
You cannot manually control the AC charge of the Solarbanks. This is always controlled by any automated mode only.
You can only limit the max. AC charge, that's it.
For everything else you need a smart meter in the system.

got it... as mentioned, I don't have a solarbank3, therefore I don't know what could be set in the app / device...

But is your mentioned max. AC charge setting not the setting I need?

This was my idea:
I have a SMA photovoltaic system (with relative small battery) and I thought to install a solarbank3 as additional battery. In HA I got all informations about actual energy consumption and PV production etc. and I would like to build an automation which checks energy overhead and adjust the AC charge of the Solarbank3.
Or is the mentioned max setting not that dynamic (e.g. range form 0 - 1200W)?

I do exactly the same (just in opposite) with my solarbank2 system in the garden. I check the energy consumption in house and adjust the discharge of the system, depending on demand. (see picture in 1st post) I do this because I have the SMA smart meter installed but not the Anker smart meter.

The AC limit is the charge limit, it is not a preset. Like the output limit is a limit only, not an output preset.
Manually you can start only an emergency charge (or define a time window for it).
I don't know if the charge limit is applied also in that mode, but it should. Anyway, the device allows to set the AC charge limit only in 100 W steps. And the integration does not support it with Api alone. You need to enable the MQTT connection to get the AC charge limit control, then you can control it in combination with the backup windows.

This item is already 5 months old but I think it should now be possible to implement a battery management in HA that manages two different batteries. I have a HomeWizard and a Anker Solarbank 3 battery. With the MQTT server options enabled I can change the Max AC Input Limit and the “backup” mode follows this limit for a fixed charging mode (0,100..1100,1200W). The “manual” mode I use to discharge the Anker battery with the System Output Preset (0-800 or 0-1200). I will use these two modes of the Anker battery together with the NOM of the HomeWizard battery. If the HW is (almost) full or empty I will switch to NOM mode of the Anker battery with HomeWizard in stand-by. This looks promising although I am still working on improving the battery management strategy. I am using Python to implement the BMS. Before I only used YAML but more complex structures become very difficult to read. So now learning Python on the go :-)
Note: I am using the P1 meter of HomeWizard to determine which values to charge or discharge with. I even have a HW EnergySocket before the Anker Battery to measure input and output power of the Anker Battery.

sounds interesting, but the backup mode allows to charge the battery? In meanwhile I implemented a Marstek Venus system as second battery that can be controlled by modbus.

Absolutely, the backup charges the battery until it is full to be ready for backup and is limited by the Max AC Input Limit.
