SC3KU Unofficial Enhancements — v1.0

Two optional enhancement packs for SimCity 3000 Unlimited for Windows: one adds tree and weather controls plus two developer deals; the other refreshes terrain and water while preserving the game's classic appearance. Download either ZIP below, or install both.

Civic Deals & Extra Cheats

Open the cheat window with Ctrl + Shift + Alt + C, enter a command, and press Enter. Cheat-window instructions

Command | What it does -- | -- forestfill | Plants trees across eligible open terrain. forestthicken | Adds tree density on eligible terrain. clouds on | Requests the game's native clouds and rainy weather. clouds off | Releases the weather lock and requests clear weather. corruptncrazy | Starts the Back Door Development Deal, followed by the WMT Redevelopment Offer.

How the two deals work: Enter corruptncrazy, then open the first offer in the petition inbox. Accepting Back Door Development adds §100,000 without a disaster; rejecting it adds no money. Its preferential-development arrangement is part of the petition's story.

After you accept or reject that offer, WMT Redevelopment appears separately. Accepting WMT adds §100,000 and triggers one native tornado. Rejecting it grants no money and causes no tornado. Use a copied city for WMT testing—it can damage your city.

The sequence is available once per running game session. Offers can expire; restart the game to begin a fresh sequence. If visible rain/clouds fade, enter clouds off followed by clouds on.

Null 45's unmodified Extra Cheats plugin is included: dotcom adds §1,000,000, moolah <number> sets total city funds, and SimDate <month> <day> <year> sets the game date. See the original Extra Cheats project. Native Call Cousin Vinnie / Local Fundraising Event behavior is preserved.

Classic Natural World

A visual enhancement using four native terrain/water palette resources:

• Refines five terrain environments, including both green landscapes, desert, savannah, and winter.

• Adds stronger hillside and elevation shading, with improved rocky high ground and snowy summits.

• Softens the transition between land, sand, and water.

• Gives waterways richer royal-blue, cobalt, sapphire, and navy depth variation.

• Preserves the original buildings, roads, trees, and isometric artwork.

The effect is applied when the game loads the installed palettes; no cheat command is needed. It changes colors and shading rather than terrain shape or simulation rules. Snow improvements affect terrain; they do not add snowfall or snow-covered buildings.

Installation

1. Close SC3KU. Extract the ZIP for each package you want to install.

2. Back up important city saves and every existing game file you will replace. Keep those backups outside the game folder. Original backup files are not bundled.

3. Civic Deals: Back up Apps\Sys\SYS.PAK, the six matching petitioner IXFs in Apps\Res\Text\ENGLISH, and any existing copies of the two included DLLs. Copy the contents of the package's Apps folder into your game's existing Apps folder, merging folders. It should contain both SC3KExtraCheats.dll and SC3KCivicDeals.dll. If an old experimental SC3KCorruptCrazy.dll is present, move it outside the game folder.

4. Classic Natural World: Back up and replace all four matching files in Apps\Res\Dirt\Palette: 455A72B1_LandPalettes.IXF, PALWATER.BMP, PALEDGEL.BMP, and PALEDGED.BMP. Install the complete set together.

5. Launch the game and test with a copied city. Each ZIP includes detailed installation/rollback guidance and SHA-256 checksums.

Both packages can be installed together; they target different files. To remove them, close the game, remove the added mod DLLs as appropriate, and restore your own backups following the included instructions.

Compatibility: Civic Deals targets US-English Windows GOG/Steam resources. Classic Natural World was tested with the Windows Steam palette layout. Other editions and languages are not confirmed.
